"Excellent experience in a very good hotel. Safe, clean and with a very well appointed room. Everything worked. Housekeeping was exceptional. All the staff were keen to help, were always polite and efficient and friendly. The pool area very nice with amazing views but there wasn’t any shade! The gym facilities were very good and the area was supervised I would highly recommend the Cinnamon Red Hotel and would stay again in a second. "

"This is a very nice beach front hotel. Popular place since 70s. Close to the city center with bus/train stations, banks/ATMs. Turtle beach also very close, we can feed the friendly sea turtles and take photos. Kids friendly beach area. This hotel has swimming pools. One for the kids also. Good breakfast and dinner buffet with international food items, some local items also daily. Good A/C, Hot water, comfy beds. "We walked in an apartment with dust and dirt on the floor, mould behind toilet door, mould on kitchen glass tray. They said this apartment was closed for some time. Housekeeping staff should be trained to check on details. Would not recommend for families who are particular about cleanliness. The management needs to take feedback seriously without giving excuses for lapses."

"We loved the place, the owners are beautiful people providing all sort of services but more important even, they provide very useful information about services in town and average price for them. Super helpful when it comes to bargaining with locals. Ideal place if you look for a quiet holiday as it is close enough to walk to the lively places but located in a quiet local area."

"The hotel was close to the city centre and near railway station in Kandy. The hotel manager was helpful and knowledgeable about tourist sites and bus, train, three wheeler transport. The breakfast was delicious, scramble eggs and toast, and tea. "

"Great spot for our arrival in Sri Lanka. We stayed one night. Comfortable bed, large room and easy walk to the Main Street to get dinner. The owner drove us to Habarana the next day for a fair price and even gave us several recommendations for our next few days and bought us local fruits. "

"Kandy can be quite expensive, so we booked this place in nearby (and non-touristy) Matale for a fraction of the prices further South. It's a short walk or tuk tuk from the main bus stop. It's a wedding/reception venue with a few modest rooms and a lovely deck for meals. Our room was excellent for the price, though we chose to 'upgrade' to get the aircon remote for another USD $5. Although we hadn't organised in advance, they were able to serve us dinner for a small fee too. There's no toilet...
