"Me and my family spend a week in this beautiful chalet!It was charming,nice and cozy,with an amazing view, fireplace, jacuzzi, there's nothing to complain!The owners are really nice and friendly, easy to communicate and ready to help with anything! "We had a wonderful time in this cosy, rustic chalet with impeccable views. It was great for two families and had everything we needed. Only things to watch out for are head heights - there are lots of low level ceilings and so not great for very tall people and lots of steep steps so not brilliant if you have any mobility issues at all. However for a stay very near to the Croix Fry lifts, easy ski hire, slopes, cross country ski and delightful walks it was perfect."

"Was the lovely ground floor area of a larger chalet, with the owners living upstairs. The chalet is located near the top of a small village on a winding country lane, so be aware, if you are coming in the winter you may find this challenging to get up! "Everything about the hotel itself was excellent, the property felt very new and clean, rooms were a good size and well equipped. The spa was also very clean and although small, was never too busy, and was separate to the main pool so for those looking for a little more quiet, it was for over 16s only. All to the staff were amazing, we had great communication from Emma before and during our stay, and Vinesh makes the best cocktails on the mountain! It was very accessible to the slopes, and has the nicest boot room we have ever had. The only drawback is the location for amenities, there is only one small (but very nice) food shop which sells wine, cheese and bread, and only 2 restaurants locally, so I'd recommend a food shop before you arrive, or be willing to drive/get a bus if you plan to cook more."

St Alban Hotel Jan 2025

"Great hotel for a week skiing La Clusaz, the hotel has its own vehicle to transfer you to one of the 2 lifts or the Tour Village bus passes every 10 mins. Spa is excellent with ice cave, sauna, rain shower and small pool, also a relaxation room with herbal teas. Hotel recommended we book restaurants prior to our visit which we did and was a good job we did as restaurants were turning people away. Breakfast buffet was really good great selection of cold and hot options and pastries. Would recommend and definitely return. "

"I begrudgingly offer a glowing review, begrudgingly because it will make this wonderful hotel a little bit more popular and a little bit more expensive. However, the staff are excellent, very hard working and extremely professional, and they deserve to be praised. The rooms and the spa (free for one guest for a two hour slot, extra for second guest) are also excellent. Ski lifts and multiple bars/restaurants are a short walk away. However, the restaurant in the hotel is also definitely worth visiting. I left my gloves in the bar, I cannot collect them so please treat them well. "

"Needs daily cleaning especially emptying the bins in the room. No lift so it was difficult to carry luggages to the third floor. Very limited time opening with reception. You need to be in Bossonet before 7:45 pm to catch the last village bus back to the hotel if you are in the village. They serve good food options at a very reasonable price."

Comfortable, compact chalet in the Thônes area

"We stayed for two weeks in September in Le Lachet. It’s a compact, well equipped two bed chalet, located about 1km out of the small town of Thônes between Annecy and La Clusaz. The chalet had everything we needed and was very clean. There’s a dishwasher in the kitchen area and a small washing machine in a separate utility room (accessed from the outside). There is parking just at the rear of the chalet, and plenty of seating and a table on a decking area for outdoor living if the weather permits. There’s plenty of places to see in the area such as the Lake and the old town in Annecy. There’s another lake slightly further away at Aix-le-bains with a tree lined lakeside promenade and free parking. If you are prepared to travel a bit further, you can take a cable car up the mountain from Chamonix to view the high peaks of the Mont Blanc massive .. tickets are expensive but we figured it was a once in a lifetime thing (pick a clear day or you might be disappointed). Locally there are nice mountain drives and lakeside or river walks. Two great coffee shops we can recommend.. Mountain in Thônes and Lo Garâjo near Manigod. A couple of tips for British visitors.. Take your own towels, they’re not automatically included. I took a Google chrome cast and bought a double plug socket so I could watch English streaming channels, otherwise it’s just French channels on the tv which isn’t much fun. The host was very pleasant, we managed the handover fine despite the language barrier. "
