There was construction being done which was noted at check-in (but I didn’t see anything about it while booking through Expedia). I spoke to the receptionist about why they didn’t book guest at one end of hotel and do construction at the other end or vice versa she wasn’t sure why. Some loud construction started around 8am. Also the pool and hot tub were out of service. They did have a contingency plan to go off site and use a pool at another location but it takes away from be experience for my kids. The bath tub did not drain well so you end up showering while standing in water. They have “house” brand ketchup. We actually thought it had gone sour but we were told but some Americans that’s how it tastes. We grabbed some extra packets of Heinz from a restaurant to bring in for the following days breakfast. The front desk people were very polite and friendly

Booked the premium room just for the jet tub. It had multiple hairs in it. Found hair on the bed clothes. The mini fridge ran so loudly all night. Plenty of noise in the hallway. The main entrance smelled like an ash tray. Vacuuming also fell by the way side.

I was unaware this property was about to undergo renovations so when we pulled up it looked a little spooky. Once we got inside, my opinion changed a bit. The lobby was clean, the staff was nice and the room was clean and comfy. There were also a lot of families there too…and the French toast sticks for breakfast were a plus! I would stay again, AFTER renovations are complete.

Admittedly my unmet needs felt much greater than they might to another, as needing a hotel was due to a death in my family & as I flew to MI, I had no car. Bed was comfortable; room had extra chair ( ); in-room coffee not drink-worthy. TV technology for CC challenging to select & sustain. I chose this lodging option as it advertized having a restaurant/bar in hotel, & our transportation between Funeral Home & eating options challenging. I was not informed when making reservation prior to arrival, that Restaurant was not ‘operating/open’ due to on-going construction. UPon registrating, I nquired if ‘Attached Rooms’ were available... they couldn’t make that happen (construction/rennovation?) Initial interaction with desk personnel was ‘challenging’ for me, as I was grieving the death of a family member and was easily frustrated with not having my needs met. Other personnel (while not knowing of my personal situation) were polite & helpful throughout my 2-day stay. Eventually the ‘greeting personnel’ offered us botttle of water and $$ Restaurant Gift Card we were unable to use, as the restaurant is not available in the state where we live.

I don’t know where this property gets good reviews from and I must assume that it’s from people who never travel and don’t really know what to expect when they stay at a hotel. This place is insultingly deceptive. On Expedia they show that they have a restaurant. In reality, they serve powdered eggs for breakfast and do some weird managers snacktime in the afternoon, but there is no functional restaurant where you can order food. I got an elaborate vending machine situation going on here. But beyond that and what really Upset me was that I booked for a day in advance as my flight was arriving at 5 AM the following morning and I knew that the check-in would be 3 PM and so to avoid waiting in the lobby all day I paid for a day in advance. I called IHG Who owns this hotel and talked with them, I called Expedia and talked with them about it, and I called the hotel directly, informing them of my flight times and what I was trying to accomplish. Everyone agreed. They took the money in advance. However, when I showed up at 6:30 in the morning on the 16th having paid for the 15th through the 21st, my reservation has been canceled Because I didn’t show up by 3 AM due to my flight not arriving till 5:15 AM which I told them when I made the booking. Additionally, they advertise having a restaurant which they do not. There is a place for a restaurant, but it is closed. This is a drab s-hole!!! If you decide to, insist on a room close to the front of the hotel. The hotel is very large
