Tired old hotel.

Hotel seemed clean. Rooms were tired and in desperate need of remodeling. Not enouth pillows or towels for everyone in our group.

I needed to check in early to get ready for a wedding and the desk clerks were so accommodating and helpful for me to do this. Clean room, quiet night sleep and great air for this hot hot day. Enjoyed this stay...breakfast good too!

Good place if you need to be in or near Detroit

The Wingate was a fine hotel for me. The room was very clean and well maintained. The breakfast was a bit limited, but there was hot food that was tasty. What I was most grateful for was that because we were there for two consecutive nights, we were placed on the top floor without families with small kids on either side of us. We had restful evenings both nights, even with the hotel full of young adults and small children.

There was a strong ordor of POT inside the hotel, the bathroom had mold in the tub, hotel was not very clean and on sunday there was no notification or warning that the elevator was going to be out of service for several hours. Staff was nice and polite that was the only good thing.

The hotel lobby and common areas were dirty. The pool was closed for maintence and the small fitness room was disgusting. There was juice boxes and garbage all over and doesn’t look it has been cleaned in weeks. Breakfast was “ok” Room itself was nice and clean and comfortable. If you just need a cheap room to sleep this would work.

People were better than the place.

We grabbed a hotel last minute when our plans changed at our relatives. We booked a room for our stay while in Detroit and it met what we needed while we were there. Some things were missing like trash cans in the room, more than 2 large towels especially when we had 3 people staying, the key card kept not working....but each person at the desk was helpful if I asked for something and very accommodating.

Cheap ownership, poor management. Good help.

First couple days wasn’t to bad. The weekend was ok. When I came to weekdays. Serivice was almost non existent. We had a reoccurring problem with our door keys that needed to be reset two or three times a day. My extension cord was stolen on our last day. I believe it to be the hotel personnel picked it up. While I was away. But since I left a day early they didn’t want to refund my last day stay. Plus they hadn’t seen my cord. Over all it was a very poor experience. The hallways smelled like weed. The ac didn’t work in building, but was on in the rooms. The cleaning crew did a very good job in the rooms. They only have so much to work with.
