We loved Lake Melissa
Loved the area. Lake Melissa is a hidden gem. We lucked out and stayed just as the autumn colors in the trees were at their peak!
The view of the lake was incredible out of the many windows. We watched the birds take their route past us every morning. There was a paddle boat and stand-up paddle boards available if we wanted them.
The house was fine. Everything we needed was there, but it could use some minor maintenance. There is a window in the shower without any covering on it. That shower faces the gathering area between the bunkhouse and the main house and a straight view to the street. Maybe it's tinted and you can't see inside??? I could see right out while I showered.
Clocks had dead batteries, the light on the ceiling fan was not usable. We only used one bed and it was fine but not the best mattress. Linens were exceptionally nice -- big fluffy warm towels awaited us on each bed.
I recommend bringing bottled water for drinking and cooking. There were only two of us but the layout would offer plenty of room for a larger family or group. In late September the neighborhood was very quiet and relaxing. Weather was rainy but wifi is good. We were easily able to unwind and relax here.
