This secluded one-room cabin causes most folks to separate into two groups: "We Truly love it" and "Not a chance". Still, you would be hard pressed to find another place like this on the internet.
Seclusion in the natural world is one theme. Living like an Ozark native did back one-hundred years or more is the other. "Peace and quiet enveloped us." "This retreat from the work-a-day world shows us how little we really need."
The facts: The cabin is one room with a covered porch and porch swing. Inside you will find everything you need: Comfortable double bed, kitchen with antique gas stove, all kitchen utensils, dining table. There is an wall furnace for heat or use the wood stove if you prefer. But, importantly, the cabin is off-the-grid. That means, kerosene lamps, ice box cooling, trips to the outhouse. And, of course, there is no air conditioning in the summer when we take it off the calendar.
Outside: Gentle evenings next to the fire (we provide the wood), cows lowing across the river, coyotes singing at night and whippoorwills. A short walk to the river will bring you to canoes. Guests can access canoes whenever they wish. Plan to explore, fish, hike, nature watch, or simply relax, recover and renew.
We have other, modern, cabins well away in the timber at Rock Eddy Bluff Farm, but many guests prefer only Line Camp Cabin.
We understand!
