Best Downtown Sacramento Historic Hotels

Vagabond Inn Executive Old Town

2.5 star property
7.8 out of 10, Good, (1000)
"The highlight of this place for us was the location - a very easy 5 minute walk to old town, and also Macy’s in the other direction. The room size is fine and as expected. There was a fridge and microwave which was a bonus we were not expecting. The air con worked well. Shower temperature and pressure were good. On the down side, the bathroom had a strong urine smell but since you couldn’t smell it in the main room, we didn’t bother reporting it as we had already made ourselves comfortable....

Holiday Inn Sacramento Downtown-Arena, an IHG Hotel

3.0 star property
8.4 out of 10, Very good, (1207)
"We booked this place because of the location, very convenient. Walking distance to bars, old sac, golden 1, yard house etc. However, there are many homeless in the area. During our stay shots were fired and there was a lot of commotion. Our room was dirty, the sofa bed had dirty sheets and there was a lot of hair in the shower. Besides everything I booked again for February, so I hope to have a better experience. "

The Sterling Hotel

3.5 star property
8.2 out of 10, Very good, (859)
"I wanted to love our stay at The Sterling so much more. It’s a beautiful property and the rooms are giant and gorgeous, but the lack of upkeep was really apparent. In our first floor room, the 2 upholstered armchairs by the window were both stained, one with a 10” stain right in the center of the seat. One of the lace drapes from our bay windows was missing. And the jacuzzi was giant and generally clean, but was cracked and the jet nozzles looked concerning enough where I didn’t necessarily...
