Yotel in Dubai

"Having spent 10 days at the First Collection Business Bay I'm seriously impressed. The staff have been incredibly friendly, efficient, sociable and attentive and have really looked after us! The manager of the Shisha bar Yasih (apologies if I got the name wrong) has been incredible, really made it a great experience and made sure we could watch whatever football games we wanted and made sure everything was above expectations. The chef in the Shisha bar on the grill was incredible, we also had the privilege of knowing he buys all his own special spices with him which makes the food so much more impressive and is a much better price than the other restaurant in the hotel downstairs. The pool was great, always clean and the lifeguards were extremely attentive when less able swimmers were in the pool! Housekeeping really went above and beyond and even went as far to straighten our shoes and put our phone chargers away and even put my aftershave back in its box. Reception staff and concierge were always incredibly helpful and if we needed something or had questions they'd have the answers or they'd call up to our room to check if we needed anything! The only disappointing part of our stay was the Blacksmith restaurant. It was incredibly expensive and not good for money at all. Food was average and the spicy food was excessively hot to the point it wasn't enjoyable."

"Impressive hotel. Staff are all exceptionally welcoming. Stayed in a club room which I highly recommend. The Imperial club lounge is very good and well worth it. The hotel is a bit ‘Las Vegas’ like in that there are a lot of visitors in and out all day who are not actually staying in the hotel as day tickets are sold to the water park and aquarium. It gives the place a slightly odd feel, more like visiting a theme park than a hotel. Quieter in the evening when it’s just hotel guests. However we were aware before booking that it would be busy during the day so not really surprised. Water park is great fun, river rapids have several options and are well thought out. The Aquarium is spectacular and if you are lucky you might get to watch divers in the tanks. I was pretty amazed by the size of some of the fish. Huge variety. Room was very big and comfortable. As with so many hotels The Atlantis has changed from individual toiletries to large refillable bottles. I get that this must save the hotel a lot of money but I do think this practice is a bit cheap, it’s the one area that was disappointing. Service was impeccable both in the Imperial club and in Ayama restaurant where we ate in the evening. Reasonably priced as well. It is expensive per night compared to other similar hotels but there is a lot to keep you entertained, especially if you have kids with you. I would recommend a visit to this hotel. "

"Pictures don’t do justice to Sofitel Downtown Dubai. I enjoyed every minute of my stay here. From the minute we walked in, we were treated like royalty. The appliances are top notch, the facilities are clean and the staff are incredibly courteous. Despite being in downtown it’s kids friendly. Worth every penny spent."
