Close to centre and comfortable
We really enjoyed our stay here. I like the quiet location, but yet close enough to the city centre that we could walk. We'd walk to the Dockland shop area for breakfast, then continue walking into the city centre for our destinations. We also found it to be a safe location. Maybe all of Dublin is, but even the neighbors reassured us. The house itself was perfect, nice bedrooms, and living space. No couch, and tiny TV, but we didn't come to Dublin for that :) Also, the garden was not in bloom, so the photo shows differently than online. I'd still stay here again, having parking in Dublin so we could take day trips further out was easy.

Warm, cozy stay
Wonderful cottage within walking distance to the park, pubs and restaurants. The bus stop is just a few minutes' walk to catch the bus into Dublin City. The cozy fireplace was perfect for a relaxing nightcap. Highly recommend this place!

Great little bungalow on the coast of Dublin
We stayed at this property for 3 nights. The host was responsive to messages and allowed us to check in early, which was very gracious. He said he had communicated with housekeepers and it was ready to go. Upon arrival, there was a pile of laundry in the entrance and the beds were stripped of sheets. We chalked this up to miscommunication and the price of checking in early, no problem. The only other issue was we were only given 2 rolls of toilet paper for 3 days, so we had to buy some. However, these issues were small and not a big deal. Overall, the accommodations were lovely and cozy. We so enjoyed sitting by the fireplace and the coastal location. The house was filled with lots of neat art and more books than you could ever ask for. It was clean and well kept. A great stay overall!

Nice property, attentive host
This is a thoughtfully restored cottage with an interesting history in a neighborhood that is transitioning as homeowners re-establish period dwellings. It is well stocked with basic necessities. Host provides an abundance of firewood which we appreciated as there is a lovely fireplace in the living area that provides a cozy place to rest after a busy day sightseeing. We chose to ditch the car while in Dublin. The bus was an easy 15 minute walk away. Alternatively, taxis had no problem finding us. Property is directly across from a working dockyard, so there is a little noise, but it was quiet at night. If the weather is fine, there is a private detached garden that is very nice. The back of this picturesque cottage faces the street, so you need to walk around to the other side of the building to access the entrance. It is well-lit at night. William is an attentive host. We were having problems with the eSIMs in our phones, so texting was problematic, but William used all the other modes of communication to make sure we received his careful, detailed information and instructions.

Cottage in Dublin
The owner of the property provided good communication. The pictures of the home make it appear much larger than it is. There is no couch to sit on and the chairs downstairs are uncomfortable. Very challenging for a family of 4. The garden is a weed patch. I have photos and was really disappointed. It could be a lovely spot. The cottage is a 15 minute at least drive downtown and is across the street from a shipyard. Shipyards work 24/7 so it is a bit noisy.

We loved our time here! The taxi driver had a hard time finding it but william sent me detailed instructions before we arrived so i was able to tell the taxi driver how to get to the property. We loved the location. We loved being right by ringsend park. We walked to and from city center every day, it took about 40 mins but we loved it.

A Secluded Cottage in a Busy City
The Coastguard Station cottage is very charming and a great fit for two adults, offering each their own room with comfy bed. I was able to prepare simple meals in the kitchen that had everything I needed, including multiple ways to brew a fine cup of coffee (always a plus in my book). Interestingly enough, the location of the cottage turned out to be a gift. While it’s close to the working port, it was surprising quiet; it seemed much quieter than other Dublin neighborhoods I explored (e.g., Stoneybatter, St. Stephens Green). It was easy to catch a bus (S2 and C2) to the city center, nearby Sandymount for groceries and restaurants and Sandymount Beach for a walk. Billy was a fine host, providing just the right information.

Quiet neighborhood not too far from Dublin City center
We stayed here for four days while visiting Dublin and would definitely recommend it. When you first get there you might feel isolated but within our first day there we figured out the nearby public transportation and the neighborhood that’s walking distance. Easiest is to walk to the S2 bus stop and that bus will take you to the Sandymount DART station within 5-10 mins or you can schedule a cab. Only thing we didn’t know is the stairs up to the bedrooms are small and steep, not the easiest for my grandparents to go down but we managed. Would stay here again!

Charming Townhouse
We stayed here while other family members stayed in a hotel in Temple Bar (central Dublin). They had noise, parties till bars closed. We had a quiet neighborhood, easy on street parking, two comfortable bedrooms in a private, charming townhouse. We would definitely stay here again. We especially loved talking daily walks on Dublin Bay, about a five minute walk away (from roundabout, take South Bank Road to path on right to the beach.)

Beautiful cottage in Dublin
We had a wonderful stay in Dublin and loved the history of this cottage. The location was great and we enjoyed walking the neighborhoods with easy access to hiking trails, pubs, shops and beaches. I definitely recommend this stay if you're looking for a quiet place outside the bustle of downtown!

What a disappointment
First of all, the bedrooms are upstairs and the stairs are narrow and dangerous and there is no handrail. Then the beds they called Queen were clearly only doubles. We literally turned around and hailed a taxi and stayed at a hotel, and there property owner will not offer me a partial refund. So sad that VRBO allows this property as it is my first problem with VRBO. I’m thinking hotels when outside the USA.

Very unique. Nicely restored. Having dedicated parking a real plus! Close enough to walk to Aviva Stadium (our main reason for being in Dublin) so for that reason the property made sense for our trip. We had some challenges getting check in information however once I called the host we received the details.

Beautiful place
My friend and I loved our stay in Billy’s cottage. The area it’s in, Ringsend, was a bit out of the way and confusing to the cab drivers — but I’d not change a thing about the place. What I loved most, other than the interior of the cottage, was getting to walk through the park that leads to the more commercial area. Keep in mind that you’ll most likely be calling cabs from that spot, but I’d say it’s well worth it. I incorrectly felt like a local because of the location and how I learned about a more off the beaten path part of Dublin :)

Amazing location and amazing rental...
Myself and my three daughters loved it...the Ringsend and Irishtown neighborhoods are terrific...many pubs and restaurants within walking...I walked each day into the city center, which I logged as 2.29 miles through the gorgeous Ringsend Park. If you want public transportation the S2 is an easy option - if you can walk a bit but dont want to walk the entire way to City Center - the C1 and C2 at the Irishtown stop is the fastest way to go. My daughters loved the rental - it was close enough to the city without it being in the city. Thank you Billy!

Lovely home but listing is inaccurate
Check in was good. Check in times between VRBO and owner’s info differed but we were able to get in during the earlier. House is clean and charming. Several amenities were lacking. The restful garden was grass and weeds knee high. No seating. Washing machine/dryer left clothing soaked. Owner seemed to be game playing with his messages. Owner declined request for compensation for missing amenities and claimed to have people helping us who we saw no sign of. Very displeased.

Wonderful Place
We loved our stay and everything was perfect. The only downside was that it was a couple of miles from downtown and getting downtown during rush hour took more like one and a half hours. This has nothing to do with the VRBO but we called for an Uber at 4:30 and it took 1 hour for the Uber to arrive and another hour to get to the restaurant. 2 hours and we probably could have walked it in less than half the time. The next day I had 2 Ubers/Free Now cancel and I finally just drove most of the way there. So now for the excellent part - check in was easy and parking is FREE!!! Great host and the VRBO is cozy and comfortable. I'd suggest not trying to tackle the Dublin traffic - and I though Los Angeles was bad...

Lovely, cosy cottage
Billy’s cottage was a haven. Our luggage took 3 days to arrive but the cottage and the docks were wonderful. It’s quite a walk to the centre of Dublin, we sometimes ubered which made it very easy (NB - eirecode is very important as the cottage isn’t easy to find otherwise). But would love to stay again and heartily recommended.

Great little cottage just outside city center
Billy's cottage was a great place to stay during a five day trip to Dublin. It was as described and worked well for my friend and I. It is a little off the beaten path (cab drivers had trouble finding it), but a 20 minute walk takes you to the Luas, which is handy for getting around. If you like walking, you can walk right to the city center.

Great little place!
This house is a bit small but charming and just what we needed. We were concerned about the house being off the beaten path but it is convenient to the bus and a short ride to city center. It was a great place for home base as we explored the city and countryside and a comfortable place to come back to at the end of a long day. Plus, a short walk to the Merry Cobbler, our new favorite pub. We would recommend!
