Built in 1933, history meets modern in this landmark boutique building that has been lovingly restored and remodeled with thoughtful attention to detail, including large windows, tall ceilings, a mix of original exposed brick and reclaimed wood ceilings and tiled floor and comfortable, quiet flooring. Entering Odin’s private entrance on the street-level, you are greeted with the building’s restored architectural features before descending an open staircase to the spacious, private unit.

The 2,900 square-foot unit comprises of an open floor plan with full views of Lake Superior from the kitchen, lounge and dining areas as well as a statement electric fireplace. Each of the bedrooms also offers big views of the world’s largest freshwater lake. The two bedrooms are separated by a bonus living area furnished with comfortable sofa and chair seating, a game table and chairs that can be used for children’s time away from the adults playing games or searching for ships or an office away from home. In keeping with its Norse heritage, Odin offers four access points to “wind and sea” from the lounge, secondary bedroom, bonus living space and the primary bedroom. Odin’s lounge, dining and kitchen space are fully appointed with the guest traveler in mind. A dining room set with a table and combination chairs and bench seats eight people. Both the dining area and the relaxing and calm seating area have front seat lake views for peaceful mornings sipping a cup of coffee before the day begins and an end-of-day gathering area for a cocktail and dinner or games.
The chef’s kitchen is entirely equipped with a spacious prep area, double sink, table-height island counter with three chairs, stainless-steel appliances, and cookware and utensils. There is nothing you’ll be missing for your comfortable stay in this kitchen. Leave everything at home! Each bedroom is appointed with comfortable and quality mattresses and bedding, TV and a seating area for reading, working or gazing at the water. Hooks and storage are placed just where you need them for a weekend visit or extended stay. The primary bedroom, “the Captain’s Quarters,” has a king-size bed, seating area with access to the deck for outdoor seating. To add light and drama, an original 90-year-old window is a featured architectural centerpiece above the bed. The bedroom also boasts a generous closet system and an ensuite bathroom with two vanities, a large walk-in shower with teak bench, soaking tub, a private water closet and features organic EO products. The second bedroom has a queen- sized bed and offers its own heritage touches with repurpose original ship port holes and reclaimed wood ceiling and wall behind the bed. Occupants of this room will enjoy their own privacy and time away with in-room swivel chairs for morning coffee and its own access to the outside deck. With a second bathroom located just off the kitchen, guests in second bedroom and bonus space have access to an angled walk-in shower, vanity and organic EO products. A guest powder room is located on the upstairs landing of the unit. A utility room close by the kitchen and bathroom has a stacked washer and dryer and laundry tub.
