DATES NOT AVAILABLE? Check out our neighbouring property Ruskin Lodge South which has been newly refurbished in 2022.

The lodge is part of a small collection of traditional privately-owned log cabins which see guests returning year after year. The lodge is in an elevated, quiet and bright spot and enjoys views of the surrounding forests and mountains.

The kitchen is fully equipped and has an alcove dining area which seats 6. The living room has two giant picture-frame windows with views of the surrounding woodland and has a large TV, DVD player, hifi with radio, small library of books and board games.

The lodge is a great base to explore Cowal. It is surrounded by ancient woodland, close to Loch Eck and the Holy Loch and is just a short drive away from Dunoon and all the amenities the town has to offer. Bute, the Arrochar Alps, Loch Awe, Loch Etive, Tighnabruaich, Inveraray and Loch Lomond can be reached by car or ferry, offering great day trips and spectacular journeys through some of Scotland’s most romantic, scenic and dramatic landscapes.

Come and stay at Ruskin Lodge North, whether you are looking for a relaxing getaway with friends & family, a romantic holiday with your loved one, or a comfortable base to explore Cowal.

Comfortable, well equipped chalet
Well laid out chalet park - lots of space and entertaining red squirrels. Next door to Puck's Glen, 15 minute walk to Benmore Gardens and many more lovely walks in area. The furthest we travelled were Toward and Ardentinny.

Wish we were back!
From the word go it was one of our best holidays yet! The app from owner was great before even getting there. Highly informative and couldn't be better. The lodge is well equipped, comfortable and in a perfect siting amongst some 18 or so other lodges having plenty of space around each one. Well kept grounds, with the best dog walk next door ever! Can't praise the lodge, the owner and the area enough and on top of everything the weather was perfect, only 3 hours rain in a whole week. What more could anyone ask? Just great!

Property smelt damp on arrival probably due to the wet weather. There were cobwebs in the rooms and on the first night we removed a slug from one of the bedrooms.

We loved this lodge which was very spacious and well equipped. The location was beautiful .
We enjoyed every aspect of this holiday including the surrounding area of Dunoon, Inverary and the isle of Bute. The walk from the lodge to Benmore Gardens was a real bonus as much as the Gardens Abigail was very helpful with providing us with information and a problem with one tap. We would recommend this property to everyone.

Amazing Location and Lodge
Our family of five and our dog had a fantastic week staying in the lodge. We had excellent communication from Abigail before we arrived and her website and app were detailed and full of extremely helpful information about the lodge and the surrounding area. The lodge was very well equipped, very clean and not very close to the neighbours! We walked for miles right from our front door - and the scenery is beautiful. We especially enjoyed Pucks Glen and watching the red squirrels play outside the window. We also enjoyed several other walks in the surrounding area, and the location of the lodge means that several other beautiful places are easily accessible by car. Abigail has worked very hard to make this a beautiful lodge and we thoroughly enjoyed our stay. We had a couple of questions that we emailed Abigail with during our stay and received prompt and helpful replies. We would recommend this lodge and location to anyone - 5 stars from us! Thank you Abigail.

A Christmas Dream Come True 😊
A truely amazing log cabin. We wanted a christmas away with the children and this place has made it magical for us all. So cosy and had everything we needed. The area was breath taking with amazing views of snowy mountains and beautiful hills. The wildlife too seeing deers and red squirrels outside the cabin was brilliant. The owner was so lovely too and helped inform us about things to do whilst on our holiday. Pucks Glen was right behind the cabin which was so beautiful and ive never done a walk like it before, so many gorgeous waterfalls on the trail walk up the massive hill was something we will never forget. We deffinately recommend this place!

Beautiful Lodge in a stunning area
We’ve just returned from 5 fabulous days in Ruskin lodge. It was our first family visit to Scotland and we travelled with two children under 5 and a dog. We were worried Incase it would be stressful staying away from home without home comforts as well as possibly being too cold but Abigail’s lodge was fantastic. Very warm and cosy with all home comforts and more. The children had little play things to stay entertained in the evening and the living room is very cosy to relax at night. The beds are so comfortable and the electric Blankets are a great extra. We were amazed to find a bath too which the kids loved after a long wet walk around the botanical gardens. We saw red squirrels each morning and enjoyed many little fairy walks around Pucks Glen which it just behind the lodge. The local town of Dunoon is very pretty also and the locals so friendly. We wanted for nothing all week. We were so lucky to have one rainy day but that didn’t affect us at all. We will be booking again for sure!

Amazing location and lovely lodge
This lodge was ideal for our family of 5 plus dog. It was very comfortable and the beautiful walks literally on the doorstep made it perfect. We ventured further afield to Loch Ness, Stirling, Oban and Isle of Bute - all worthwhile daytips! The owner was approachable and friendly with good recommendations, and on hand if needed for advice. The kids were really sad to say goodbye to the place and we can't wait to return. An amazing holiday!

Relaxing long weekend, all you could ask for
Five of us stayed in the lovely well equipped lodge. Very comfortable beds, hot strong shower and all the kitchen equipment you could ask for. Within very close distance of Pucks Glen for walking and exploring. Not too far to drive to Dunoon, Sandbank, Benmore (walking distance) or a little further afield. Very spacious lodge and a very friendly and informative host. Beautiful part of Scotland.

Excellent,could not have been better.
Abigail has thought of everything regarding the lodge.Everything you will need is there. We were only there for 2 nights but we wish it could have been longer.Their only smell complaint we had was that when we arrived the lodge was absolutely freezing, hence we had to put all the heating on.Having said that, once it was heated it was lovely and cosy.Even our 2 gorgeous King Charles Cavalier pups enjoyed it.Thank you Abigail,we will be back,if you will have us. Comfy, cosy and surprisingly large!
We had a great stay here in this traditional log cabin and would heartily recommend it to anyone! There is plenty room, definitely more than we thought there would be, especially when you see it from the outside. Abigail was very swift with her responses when we had questions and always more than happy to help. The walks in the surrounding area are absolutely fantastic, one of which is Puck's Glen that is right on the doorstep which is a beautiful gorge walk with a stunning waterfall. We live in Scotland ourselves (up in Morayshire) but this was an excellent little getaway, exactly what we were needing for my wife and I plus our dog loved it too! Thanks Abigail!

Cosy, comfortable lodge in stunning area
A cosy lodge in a stunning setting - beautifully clean and had everything we needed and more! The Prosecco and snacks left for our arrival was a great start to our week, there were even some treats for our dog. Lots of relaxation and long walks in the beautiful surrrounding area. The covered verandah was ideal for eating every meal outside which we were able to do even when the rain came! We were glad we had taken a citreonella candle though to keep the midges at bay on warm evenings! We had a fabulous week, enjoyed every minute! Thanks Abigail
