This beautifully secluded property is a nature lover’s dream. Whether you’re planning a cottage weekend with some friends or a family getaway for the week, this hidden gem is the perfect place to create lasting memories and enjoy the summer.
The space
The Chalet at Port Talbot Estates is an architectural delight with the perfect balance of modern practicality and breathtaking craftsmanship. The upper and main floor features beautifully exposed wooden beams and walls, with 20 foot ceilings giving the space a warm, open feel. The large, bright windows throughout the kitchen and living room overlook the forested Talbot Creek inlet leading to Lake Erie. Take in a beautiful early morning sunrise over the lake or stay up late admiring the stars and galaxies in the night sky. The fully appointed chef’s kitchen includes a wine fridge, coffee bar, large fridge and dishwasher to make entertaining a breeze.
This gorgeous chalet is located on an expansive 400 acres overlooking Lake Erie, with various trails to get lost on, exploring the beauty of southwestern Ontario. Located 20 minutes from Port Stanley, it is tucked away from the commotion of the popular beach town, but well within a reasonable distance to pack up and take a day trip. There is a small corner store nearby, but best come prepared unless you plan to eat out, in which case you'd have to drive. The beach is a short walk from the chalet and there are incredible views to behold from all areas of the property.
Guest access
You'll have access to the beach, hiking trails, and your own patio with a BBQ included in your booking. You may find the owners on site as well as other guests staying at one of the other houses.
Lake Erie is accessed by a short hike down the meandering lane way. On your way down to the beach you will pass the cottage on the right. The beach at Port Talbot is in a very natural state. Driftwood, sand and rocks are deposited and removed by the lake at will and we do not maintain it. We have in the past and have found fighting Mother Nature is a futile task that we generally lose. So, we gather up all the driftwood in the spring for a spring cleaning and then let the lake do what it will for the rest of the year. It can be difficult to walk on somedays and then on other days pristine.
