I'm going to be totally honest in this review. Starting with the "pros" of the property. The house is in good condition, very well kept. The location is convenient, not too far from town.
The "cons", I don't know how long the owner has had this property, but, first off. we could not find it. The address provided was "Number 8 by the railroad tracks". Number 8 by the tracks does not exist. We tried to call the owner several times. Each time, no answer and the mailbox was full. We talked with some locals, they told us the owner also owned a hotel in East Glacier Village.. We found the hotel, the young lady working was as helpful as she could be. She tried to call the owner to no avail. She then attempted to reach some of her friends. My friends and I were beyond frustrated. After a 500 mile motorcycle ride from Red Lodge, we were done. We had given up trying to find the owner and were going to find rooms elsewhere. As we were leaving the hotel, she called. She gave us precise directions as to the location of the house. She was very apologetic and told us if we needed anything , let her know.
The driveway to the house is rutted and full of holes. I build and maintain roads in my job so I know what I'm talking about. One deep rut ran about 50 feet, if one of the bikes bikes got in it, it would have dropped. another hole was so deep I scraped the bottom of the bike. There was no going around them, they were too numerous. A small car would not make it. After the driveway ordeal, the house looked nice. The grass needed cut and there are some old shabby out buildings on the property.
Inside was very clean and tastefully decorated. We rented this property because we need four beds. There were only three. Two upstairs and one in the basement. we called, she sent a young lady over to make the fourth bed. One last thing, the hot water tank was turned off. We didn't realize this until the second night. I understand turning the hot water off when its not rented, but, turn it on when you are going to have guests. This could very well have been an oversight.
All in all, the property has a ton of potential. Like I said in the beginning, if she recently acquired the property, the condition is understandable to a point. My biggest issue is produce what you advertise, fix the road, cut the grass, turn on the hot water, and if its a four bedroom, make sure there are four bedrooms.
If some work gets done on this property, I'd recommend it
