We loved the staff at Wilde so friendly and outgoing. We were less enamored with our rooms. Some things in both rooms we had didn’t function properly (blinds, lights, etc). Room was either freezing ir we had the heat off or felt like a furnace or we had it on. We also found that the “apartment” part of the room was not well utilized by us. We could have gotten by with just a kettle to get more room around the bed area. All in all, we wouldn’t stay again. Though we do thank the staff for their very warm welcome.

View of the castle and easy access to Grassmarket and rest of Edinburgh city center. Clean, super modern and comfortable. Staff was incredibly friendly and helpful. My new "GoTo" for City center stays.

The location is close to all the places we wanted to see (10-15min walk). We had the castle view which was nice. We were able to walk to/from the station comfortably. There are plenty of food options along the way. I highly recommend this place. The property is maintained well, the employees are helpful and the room was clean.

Excellent, though some of the fittings of the room left a little to be desired. Windows blinds were electric and did not initially work (front desk staff were very helpful about fixing them though). Shower had an odd arrangement where, when turning it off, it was very easy to switch from the hand-held head to the rainfall head, and thus receive a surprise stream of cold water at the end of your shower. Overall: Excellent staff, excellent location, slightly marred by the builders choosing style over functionality.

We got to this hotel around midnight and our room had no working heat. The bedsheets had hairs on them and the fridge was empty. The lady on duty was very nice but it took 2 hours to get new sheets which we changed ourselves. She said housekeeping would come the next day but that didn't happen. Then the manager told us he would refund our first night. He didn't and is now not responding to any of our emails or phone calls or messages. Nice.

Loved this property! We were so close to almost everything we planned in Edinburgh, didn’t have to call a single taxi. Everything was walkable. Comfy bed, nice breakfast selection and a welcoming staff! Would recommend!

This was our first experience with Wilde and loved it so much that it will be our go to hotel for all future stays in Edinburgh and look forward to exploring other Wilde properties! Book a castle view room, you will not regret it. Check in was a breeze, the room truly feels like an apartment, and although we didn’t get to enjoy breakfast because we were on a tight schedule the spread looked and smelled amazing! If you’re wanting to stay in the Grassmarket area, this is the place to be! The property is located on a whisper quite street beneath Edinburgh Castle and a convenient walk to all the major landmarks in the area, delicious food, and endless shopping.

This is a wonderful location right below the castle. Every morning we woke up to a gorgeous view! Peaceful street, one block from all of the Grassmarket shops and restaurants, and it was so easy to walk everywhere in town. The rooms were clean and comfortable, the staff was friendly and helpful. It was a pleasure to stay here and we would definitely stay there again!
