"This hotel is in a small, quiet village well off the beaten path, which is just what we wanted. But we arrived after dark and there was nobody at the reception desk. We tried to call the number, but our cell phones did not work properly. Outside the door, some people were smoking and somehow understood we could not check in. They were so friendly and helpful! They explained that there is a restaurant behind the hotel, and they would go find somebody. A young lady came and checked us in....

"Self check in worked as reception wasn't available on a rainy Saturday afternoon. Was scary at first as i had never dealt with this, i thought i needed an app called TheBird. Turns out i didn't, a screen in the vestibule enabled creation of a magnetic room key as long as you had your reservation # from hotel email confirmation (not expedia #, the hotel #).
