This is a boutique hotel in every sense of the word.There are only ten rental rooms and they are uniquely different.The grounds are lovely and very walkable.

Have you ever checked into a hotel and been made to feel that you were an inconvenience? That you were interrupting someone? That you were being looked down at by someone who thought they were superior? I was fortunate in my work and now in my retirement to have traveled the world for 30 years averaging about 250 nights of travel per year. Never, ever, have I been “greeted” with such rudeness and arrogance. We were demeaned and considered leaving after our miserable experience at check in but resolved to stay and put this rudeness behind us. The next morning I was outside taking some photos and the owners Dobermans starting barking furiously. No problem — until the owner opened the door and one of the dogs came racing toward me only to screech to a halt when I screamed at the dog. The property is very nice but it is not a hotel. It is a ten room bed and breakfast. During our stay we conducted a search of reviews for this property on multiple websites. Unfortunately, we were not surprised to see a lot of bad reviews due to the rudeness and arrogance. Had we read the reviews first, we likely would have stayed somewhere else.

O Local é bonito, limpo e bem cuidado. O responsável pela cozinha, Sra Bia é incrível e super atenciosa, ela faz a diferença. Os proprietários, são arrogantes e pouco educados, principalmente a mulhef.

Já estive por 2 vezes no Monte da Provença. Nas 2 vezes houve divergências com a fatura a pagar. Na primeira vez, iam cobrar a estadia, que já tinha sido paga diretamente ao Hotels.com, na segunda vez, cobraram cama extra, quando esse valor já estava incluído no valor da reserva. Fiz reclamação posterior, foi feito acredito e devolvido o valor pago em excesso. Ter apenas atenção à fatura no final. Quanto ao principal, que é a unidade hoteleira. MUITO BOM. Vão. Vale mesmo a pena. Muito sossego, excelentes condições de alojamento, excelentes áreas envolventes. Staff, muito simpático e disponível

We did not stay at the property for several reasons. To get to the property involved driving on a narrow dirt path for about 300 meters with a couple of sharp turns in route. All of this with no lights. This alone convinced us that we could not stay at the property as my wife was not feeling well and safe access to the city (Elvas) was important to us. Aside from the property being secluded, as we drove up we noticed two dogs on the property, one outside walking with its master (whom we later learned managed the property) and one indoors. Both dogs were unleashed. We entered the reception area and the manager eventually appeared with the large dog. As she and the dog approached I placed a door between me and the dog as I have severe allergies. We informed the manager that we could not stay because of my wife's health and the tenuous access and my allergies. She was unfriendly and showed no sympathy; stating "This is a farm, with animals." She later agreed to cancel the reservation. However, we later learned that we were still fully charged for the night. We think that Expedia and the property should clearly state that this is a rural/ farm-type property with non-paved road access so that would be travelers can make an informed choice before booking this property.

Everything about this place from reception to room size, comfort facilities are 5*. The kitchen deserves a special mention as the meal that night was outstanding. This place lives up to it's billing.

Hotellet är helt nytt, d v s från 2015: Helt byggt i gammal portugisisk stil, mycket fin arkitektur. Ägarna är väldigt gästvänliga och ger bra information om närområdet gällande t ex olivolja, mat och vin. Väldigt hemtrevlig atmosfär och inbjuder till att sitta ner och njuta av de vackra vyerna av berg, dalar, man ser långt till små byar långväga. Avkopplande. Mycket vackra blommor, t ex underbara rosor. Små detaljer såsom små artrium i gammal stil, antika möbler. Mycket fint och stort badrum. Man sov mycket bra.

A true hidden gem.

We only had a short stay in Elvas, but it was enough to appreciate how special this hotel is. Decorated with great taste, large rooms, lovely garden in a quiet setting, and convenient access. The staff is very friendly and the owner delightful. We will be back for a longer stay.

Romantic break

One night stay ....beautiful setting in the countryside. We had a suite which was very comfortable and private . The owners were very welcoming and friendly. We had lunch , dinner and breakfast which were all excellent.the swimming pool area was lovely with great views.

Charme e Aconchego

Hotel charmoso com quarto aconchegante e sala com lareira e varanda com vista para mata. Banheiro com box, mas para ligar o chuveiro molha to banheiro ou você fecha o box e leva uma chuveirada de água gelada dentro. Café da manhã simples, mas com o necessário.

Curses! If I tell the truth - it will be full!!

Don't be put off by the entrance drive - it hides a hidden Portuguese gem. This small hotel has owners who really, really try to make you welcome - I mean really try! After years of travelling - more often 5 star - my experience here was one of the best! ( and I own an hotel!)
