Stunning location, beautiful property
This was an amazing villa in a stunning elevated location overlooking the beach in Epidauros. The villa is spacious with a large open plan living area and large balconies on two levels at the front. There are three air conditioned bedrooms, two en suite and one with a bathroom next door to it.
It was not particularly easy to find at first and access is up an incredibly steep 250m rough concrete track. This would present challenges to anybody with the slightest mobility issues. A car is essential.
The upstairs balcony off the 2 bedrooms was not particularly clean and needs some work to remove the bird and bat droppings. That said, the main balcony is where you spend the most of your time. This was cleaner and had a dining area and a comfortable seating area. Great for early morning sunrises or late evening stargazing. There is also a private pool.
The (British) host lives in a separate apartment below. He was very responsive to contact (I broke a tap in the shower and it was immediately replaced).
The area is beautiful with lots of cultural and sightseeing things nearby. The local beach is at the bottom of the hill. It is a narrow pebbly beach well served with beach bars, restaurants and sunbeds. The swimming is lovely and good for children. There are even underwater archaeological remains (a roman villa) to explore.
Overall, we we would recommend this property. It was only a bit of tidying and cleaning that stopped it being 5 stars all the way.
