Welcome to The Owl's Cove (Permit 20-NCD0311), a newly remodeled space with modern A-frame cabin vibes and amazing views for your whole family. Enjoy incredible mountain views or starscapes from the deck, watch movies on the 75" TV, or chill in the hot tub. A cozy gas fire pit let you relax after playing in Rocky Mountain National Park. A kitchen/dining/living area provides family time and a kids' room with video games completes it all.
+ 10 mins to town & Nat'l Park
Great for groups up to 8.
Real quick -- house rules:
- Our home is in a residential neighborhood! If you need seclusion you'll need to search about 30 minutes outside of Estes Park.
- Check in is 4pm or later; check out is 10am or earlier; our cleaners can't offer exceptions.
- No smoking in the house on property
- Wood fire pits are illegal (you can only use our gas pit)
- We have neighbors - please be respectful with noise
- No parties, no pets
- 3 cars & 8 guests max.
- Guests must start a load of dishes and a laundry load of towels/hand towels/washcloths at checkout (we have negotiated a lower cleaning fee based on this).
Onward!
The Owl's Cove sits in a small valley below Kruger Rock, with commanding mountain views and a distinctive modern vibe. The home is 10 minutes to the National Park, to downtown, and to the forest service trail network off USFS 119 at the top of nearby Little Valley Road. Because we are so close to thousands of square miles of open space and public land, it's very likely you'll see lots of visitors as you sip your morning coffee: elk, deer, bobcats, turkeys, birds of prey, bears and even wild cats.
The home was completely remodeled in 2022 and every single surface inside and and out was redone with a cool modern aesthetic. The hallmark deck and connected patio offer a fire pit, hot tub, and lots of outdoor living and dining area -- all with incredible views. It's a perfect retreat for families, and if kids need some time to themselves, they can retreat to our play room in the basement, complete with retro Atari and Nintendo consoles.
All three bedrooms are on the main floor, along with the kitchen, dining and living room. Huge windows open to beautiful mountain vistas, a piping hot gas fireplace provides cozy atmosphere, and a hifi soundbar and record player will help you relax.
Best thing ever: snowshoe all day, sit in the hot tub at dusk, and then wind down with Pink Floyd on vinyl in front of the fireplace.
Speedy 1gb fiber wifi throughout. There's nothing faster in Estes!
ENTERTAINMENT

Our home is in a quiet neighborhood about a block off of Fish Creek Road, close to the base of Little Valley Road. We love our neighborhood because it offers amazing views and quick access to Estes Park's best attractions, without any traffic. We do have neighbors and we really ask that guests be mindful of them and not play music on our patio or in the hot tub. To be respectful of guests, we have outdoor quiet hours starting at 9:00. Normal conversations are fine but parties, gatherings, or loud conversations are not.
Our residential neighborhood is on the outskirts of the Estes Valley, but everything you would want to see or do is *super* close. Downtown, with its coffee shops, grocery store, and the Stanley Hotel, is 10 minutes. The nearest brewery is about 6 minutes. The National Park Entrance is 12 minutes. If you go up Little Valley Road, you can access the Roosevelt National Forest's hiking, biking and snowshoe trails in about 7 minutes. You will need a car to visit Estes.
NEIGHBORS & NOISE
We do have neighbors and it is super super important to respect their quiet and solitude. Parties and loud music that can disturb them is not allowed. We have decibel meters that alert us to gathering parties and disturbances (read up on Minut Noise Monitors -- they don't record anything but just track sound levels)
SMOKING AND FIRES
Smoking is not allowed on the property due to high fire danger. Sorry!
AIR CONDITIONER
Like nearly every other home in town, there’s no A/C. Thankfully mountain air blows down from the high peaks and will cool down the place quickly in the evenings if you open the windows.
BEARS
Do NOT leave food in your car! Bears frequent this area and can break in!
MINUT
We use a Minut noise meter. It doesn't record audio, but instead monitors decibel levels, temperature and humidity. This is for the safety of guests & to protect the home. It also serves to warn us about parties & prevent noise complaints from neighbors. It's located on the cieling in the kitchen.
- No loud music or convos in the hot tub as we have neighbors!
- No pets, parties
- 4pm or later checkin; 10am check out
- Start load of towels and dishes prior to leaving
- There are decibel meters in the living room and patio. They do not record anything but they do monitor sound levels and alert us to gathering parties. You can read about them by searching Minut Noise Monitors
