The best place to stay if you want to see platypuses in the wild. It was an amazing experience. The key to multiple sightings was being still and quiet!

The area is beautiful and the National park is well signed. The cabin was chilly but there was an electric radiator. No food available from the restaurant but food could be ordered by 4pm to be collected at 6pm. The meals were very good.

Quiet and peaceful stay in the mountains. Short walk to view platypus and turtles. Short drive from the chalet for dinner and eden hills cafe for a nice coffee or lunch. Room was clean and cosy with electric frypan, jug, toaster and microwave.

Loved the location. Loved the wild life. Walks were great. Accommodations were simplistic and need better sound proofing between rooms. Taps dripped . Staff was friendly and very informative. Had a great stay!

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Broken River Mountain Resort. It's nestled within the beautiful Eungella National Park, surrounded by abundant wildlife and pristine nature. The best part was the minute's walk to the creek to spot wild platypuses in their natural habitat. The complimentary guided night tour was also a highlight, adding to the overall experience. This place is truly a gem for nature lovers.

Great choice
Enjoyed our stay. The room was clean and satisfactory - matching the advertised property pictures - ie it’s a bit dated, but everything was clean and in working condition - and the price was good. The location is great, and we saw many platypus within 15 min walk along the Broken River. We ordered one meal (only takeout was available) from the kitchen and it was pretty average. A really nice lady runs the place and she was very helpful.

A beautiful location. The cabin was very clean and with plenty of room. The bed was comfortable. Self-catering was easy. Firewood was offered for a wood heater, but the reverse cycle air conditioner was sufficient to warm the cabin.. Many forest walks were available. Platypus were seen in the river. Would go again.

Wonderful location and plentiful platypus
The staff of the property were outstanding. Our cabin was very comfortable, and really close to the river where we could look out for platypus. We saw some in the first hour and at least a few were active all through the day (overcast weather probably helped). Also saw pademelon and a bandicoot on complementary night time nature walks which are multiple times each week. The location is beautifully forested with nearby hiking and trail info available from the property. Our cabin had a nice kitchen, and a comfortable bathroom with a roomy, nice hot shower. The dinners from the restaurant were delicious (steamed barramundi was outstanding) and a nice spot for lunch and coffee is on the grounds, so don’t even need to bring in supplies to cook yourself, but could if you wanted to. Our family of 4 had a wonderful time. A real gem of a place to stay.

Break from the world
We koved the location and the peacefulness of the place. The cabins are rustic but have all the amenities you need. The porch with a patio set to enjoy your morning coffee or evening meal is wonderful. The wildlife and walks in the area are really good. The internet didn't work in the cabins but you could use it by the office. We thought it was wonderful to have a break from the world.

Simple, quiet and peaceful. We were able to see platypus in the River and start our hikes from the cabin. No need to drive once there though we did go to the Eungella Chalet for dinner one night just to mix it up.
