Some of these walks such as 'Black Head Loop' and ' Caher Valley loop' are accessible from the house and the walks can vary from moderate to strenous. There are also guided walks available.

The Burren is home to a remakabley diverse and well preserved heritage, richly represented of every era from the Neolithic period onward. This heritage give us an insight the lives of the generations passed. Magnificent, evocative structures such as the 5,800 year old Poul Na Brone, portal tomb exemplify this heritage. The Burren also includes about 80 wedge tombs, over 500 ringforts, including the spectacular Caher Cummann, ancient cooking sights known as 'Fulacht Fia', ancient churches, holy wells and round towers.

The Flora of the Burren is famous all over the world because of its remarkable beauty, richness and diversity. Over 70% of Irelands native Flora is found in the Burren, including 24 of our 27 Orchid spiecies. The exuberant beauty of the burren Flora is matched by its intriguing nature, with artic-alpine plants growing beside mediterranean plants. The diversity of the plant life adds a splash of colour and vibrancy to the burren from early spring through to Autumn.

Musicians both local and not so local play here nightly, joined by visiting musicians, every night has it's uniqueness. Many different styles and mixes of musical instruments are to be found. A session is an informal gathering of musicians. It is unrehearsed as each one is made up of different players.

It did have beautiful scenery and the local beach was so nice and out of the way of people. The local bar was very friendly and the food was good 👍

Loved it!
It was such a gorgeous location and the house was spacious and easy to be in for 5-7 people, especially with five bathrooms. We had areas to gather in and also areas to go and be alone. Nice walk to beach in one direction and the pub in another direction. Views out the windows and just sitting on the picnic table were stunning. I’d stay here again for sure.

Very nice place just a little out of the way. The pub wasn't open that much. No music, food was ok.

Fantastic Home in Fanore
We had a terrific time at the house. It was extremely comfortable for us all. Mary was a fantastic property manager: responsive, professional and pleasant. Having the shop so close and well-appointed was great. Also, we loved the cows. Thanks!

Familienurlaub
Sehr schönes, großes Haus in schöner Umgebung. Alles war sehr sauber, nur der Herd und besonders der Backofen nicht. Die Küche ist sehr gut ausgestattet, wir hatten alles, was wir brauchten.

Stunning location
Fanore is great, right on the coast with a fantastic view and remote but with a shop and pub very local, which were both great. Walk on a side road to the beach took about 15-20 mins and there were many places we accessed by car on days out too. House was a great size, was in need of some refurbishment downstairs, upstairs has more recently been done I think. The garden was a good size and great off road parking. Hosts were available for any questions and check in and out were smooth.

Vacances irlandaises...

Beautiful home in Fanore
We stayed in this beautiful home for three days. It allowed us to explore the wild beauty of the Burren, surf in nearby Lahinch, and explore some ruins nearby. We also visited the grave of poet and philosopher John O’Dononohue which was very special indeed. The house is absolutely beautiful, modern and has a spacious kitchen and many bed and bathrooms. It would easily accommodate a large group. The kitchen is sully functional and the living room extremely comfortable. The views are stunning from the large windows and we watched the sun set every night. I simply can’t recommend this property highly enough! We are so happy with our stay. Huge thanks to Mary who met us when we came in and helped us settle up as we left. We would love to return!

Wonderful Stay in Fanore
We loved our 2 week stay in this home. We had four adults and it worked perfectly with 4 bedrooms all en-suite. The Atlantic Ocean and Beautiful landscape surrounding the house is amazing. We enjoyed evening walks from the house. The owner was great at answering any questions prior to our trip. Mary was a delight, and we enjoyed our conversations with her. We most definitely would stay here again, in fact we hope to book this house again for 2023!

Beautiful view
This cozy house worked very well for our family of six adults and four kids. It was well equipped with everything we needed to cook. There’s a small grocery within walking distance as well as a friendly pub. In the winter there isn’t much else, and driving was necessary to get to a larger store and restaurants. But the sound of the crashing waves and the pastoral setting was wonderful and made the location one we really enjoyed. The manager was very responsive to our needs while respecting our privacy. Such a great way to spend Christmas in Ireland with our family!

Amazing spot!
Great location along the Wild Atlantic Way. 25 minute walk to Fanore Beach. 5 minute walk to O’Donaghues pub and restaurant which was ideal for a pint of Guinness and a feed after a days sight seeing. The attractions of Cliffs of Moher, Doolin & Ailwee caves, The Burren National Park are near by with little travel. The house is clean and spacious, suited family of 8 comfortably. Gardens are ideal for the children to play football and hurling. Had a daily visit from the neighbours friendly Labrador. Amazing views of Galway bay and the Aran Islands.

Excellent location to explore the Wild Atlantic Coast
We enjoyed a week long stay at this fabulous, spacious, well equipped property on Ireland's West Coast. The perfect base from which to explore much of county Clare. The house was a short walk from Fanore beach where our kids enjoyed exploring the rock pools, there is also a shop and pub just a stroll away. There is so much to see close by - The Cliffs Of Moher are a short drive away as are the caves of Doolin. We wouldn't hesitate to recommend!

Brilliant stay at the Wild Atlantic Way
Our easter holiday trip was really exciting and beautiful because of the famous and breathtaking landscape and due to the lovely house very relaxing. The house offers so much space (we were 2 families: 4 adults, 5 kids), it's very clean and offers a great Atlantic view. I enjoyed so much sitting in the rocking chair and watching sea and sky before going to the local pub! Bests: boat trip to Inisheer, Caher Valley Loop ramble, Cliffs of Moher, Pitch and Putt Doolin. We'd love to come back next year! Tanja

Great house central to the Burren
We stayed as part of a family tour of Ireland and had a really good time - the house is great - space for cooking, eating, watching TV, family games and nice views and bedrooms. Every night down to the beach and maybe a drink at the local pub on the way back. The Burren, horse and bike riding, trips to the Aran Islands, caves and walking. Relaxing and unspoilt Clare. The Cliffs on a clear and calm day one of the highlights but more than enough to fill a week in Clare from a comfortable and peaceful base. Recommended!

Great Location for Day Trips
We stayed in this house for about 5 nights in mid-September. We had 4 adults and 2 children and we only used 3 of the 4 bedrooms. Each bedroom was spacious and had its own bathroom. This was the perfect set up for our family. The house was clean and exactly as advertised. The woman who cares for the house, Mary, was kind and helpful. The owner Ollie was fantastic with giving us ideas and directions during our stay. We loved the local pub and went there 3 times to eat and drink. It is just a short walk from the house. We enjoyed several day trips from the house including the cliffs from above and the water. We had a great time climbing on the rocks of the surroundoung burren and our son loved the neighbors dog who would come for a visit each day. Overall our stay was fantastic and the house was the perfect place to relax at the end of the day. We would recommend Ollie's house to families or groups who want a place to set down roots and then take day trips from.

Ideal place for family break
We spent a week in august 2014 in this fabulous holiday home. The house is spacious and well furnished. The bedroom accommodation was excellent with all rooms ensuite. Our kids aged 14, 11 and 7 had a great time. There is so much to see and do in the area. We enjoyed a boat trip to the Aran Islands and other days out to Lahinch Leisure Centre, The Ailwee Caves and Birds of Prey and many evenings on Fanore Beach and enjoying a pint of Guinness at the local Pub watching the sun set. None of us wanted to go home to Dublin and we are already planning our next trip. We would highly recommend this house to anyone looking for a restful break in one of the most beautiful parts of the west of Ireland. Thanks again!
