1/4 mile down a private gravel lane to your secluded smoke free lakeside carriage house studio apartment with double bed. Attached but not inside the owner's home. Windows overlooking trees, trees and more trees. Lake safe for swimming, and fishing. Stand-up Paddle-board, Canoe, Big Green Egg, and two fire pits. Close to Dover Air Force Base, but not in flight path. 20 minutes to Dover or Milford. 50 minutes to Delaware Beaches, 1 hour south of Wilmington. Day trip to DC, Baltimore, Annapolis, Brandywine Valley. WiFi, HDTV, premium channels, Chromecast software for streaming your own programs. On-site laptop. Games, puzzles, and brochures for local attractions and eateries. Kitchenette with small refrigerator with freezer compartment, microwave, stocked with utensils, plates, glasses. NO STOVE--many great local eateries--let the cook enjoy a vacation too!

Serene Lake w/ ducks
A lovely, pretty place to visit, landscaping with birdhouses, whimsical statues among ferns, hydrangea, trees & rhododendrons. Gene is a wonderful host, lovely to talk with. Enjoyed petting Dolly, Ms. Kitty and Mr. JB the Cat. We will be back. Thank you Gene.

Beautiful studio apt on the lake
I stayed at this property with my dog who was participating in an event in Greenwood. I chose it specifically because it was dog friendly and on the water. It was perfect for us. There is a fenced in “off leash” pathway down to the lake. This was perfect because it enabled me to let my dog be off leash to do his “business”. The lake is beautiful and very private. The first day we saw no one at all, the second day just two men fishing from kayaks at 8:00 am. The apartment is beautifully decorated and has enough space to make you fee that it is much bigger than it actually is. If there was one thing that I could change it would be the size of the refrigerator. It is very small and while it worked for me, I only had food for one person. I understand the issues of finding a refrigerator for a such small space but It might be worth checking into mini fridges with more cubic feet when they replace it. I would have been happier with less freezer space and more room for food. As I said, it was fine for me, but I just thought I’d point it out. All in all, it was a fabulous place to stay and I hope to return!

Exceptionally clean and quiet!
The inside of the unit was immaculately clean. The property is gorgeous, just like being out in the middle of a forest. The owner was very informative and welcoming when we arrived. We were greeted by the dog and cats who love the company of the guests! I will be booking again on my annual trips back home to Delaware. Thanks again Gene!

Lovely Place Close by Many Attractions
Lovely peaceful place to stay! We especially loved hanging down at the dock and campfires at night 😊 Also Rehoboth Beach is an easy drive from this stay too. Dover is about 20mins away & has many interesting things to see.

Stress Reliver
This is the fourth year my wife and I have stayed here. The apartment is always very clean and neat. The bathroom is a nice size and we like the walk in shower. We enjoy lounging at the lake side deck, going out in the canoe, and a little fishing. It is a quite restful getaway. It is near Dover AFB and I recommend a visit to the Air Mobility Command Museum.

Great Relaxing Stay
The Carriage House was a wonderful peaceful spot! The little lake out back was nice to sit by, and the accommodations of the house were just what we needed to feel at home for a weekend stay. We would definitely stay again!

Nice studio apartment by the lake
This was a very clean and nice place to stay. I would love to come back during the summer to take advantage of its location on the lake. There was a good amount of storage space if you like to unpack - more than I have seen in many short term rentals of this size.

Birding stay in Delaware
The Carriage House was a wonderfully cosy place to stay. Everything was comfortable - bed, chairs, sofa; the kitchen was well-equipped and easy to use; and the shower was fabulous. Great place to stay
It was quiet and I, being an older, single female, felt very safe like I was at home. No loud noises like at a hotel, with people going up and down the hallway at all hours. Perfect place to stay traveling with a dog. During the summer months, I would recommend woodland beach to take your dog. Small, sandy beach and slow drop off for going in the water.

Just Relax
This is our getaway when in the area for sports. The location is tranquil, relaxing and beautiful. We enjoyed some fishing of the dock. Great dining is within 20 min or enjoy a relaxing glass of wine on the dock. We have stayed here a few times, and it will continue to be our "go to" in the area. Gene is a wonderful host if you need her but does not intrude upon your stay. Thanks Gene, a great stay once again.

Amazing hidden gem
We could not have enjoyed our stay more! While dealing with uncharacteristically bad June weather while in town for a tournament, this was the perfect spot to come to to dry out. My son and I felt totally at home on the property, and the entire place was so clean and welcoming. If we come back to another tournament this will for sure be the first place we try to book!!
