Fermoy is a town on the River Blackwater in east County Cork, Ireland. 2 1/2 hour drive from Dublin airport, 45 min drive from Cork Airport, and 1 1/2 hours from Shannon Airport. The Blackwater river is one of the town's attractions and is popular for salmon and coarse fishing and rowing. Along the banks is a beautiful river-side walk. We also have many forest hikes close by, golf courses, swimming, pitch n’ putt, historic churches, megalithic attractions , friendly pubs & great restaurants etc. Fermoy is also home to the incredible lord of the dance star Michael Flatley at Castlehyde.

Our place is a great base for exploring the history and attractions of Co, Cork. It’s an easy drive to cork city and Airport, and many beautiful spots such as Blarney castle, Kinsale, Youghal, Fota Wildlife park, Cobh (Last stop of the titanic), and many coastal villages and islands included on the famous Wild Atlantic Way drive. Easy drive to surrounding counties including Co, Kerry for the Ring of Kerry drive, Killarney Lakes, Torc waterfalls etc. County Tipperary is close by as is Co. Waterford the home of the famous crystal and the copper coast drive. If you’re looking for brewery’s and distilleries to visit.. you can choose from many on https://whiskeytrail.ie. You can also drive to Co, Limerick, Co, Dublin, and Co, Wexford, Co, Tipperary for day trips and sight seeing. Overall Fermoy is a great centrally located touring point for Ireland.

Short stay in south of Ireland
There is not much going on in Fermoy, but it is possible to drive to some major attractions such as the national park if you don’t mind a bit of a drive. The house is very tastefully decorated and well equipped, but it is very small and the beds are listed as queens. If you are coming from America, please note this means full. Not a lot of room for suitcases, but the listing clearly stated how small it was. Overall acute little place, but not really in a destination spot.

Short stay
We stayed for 5 days- it was very pleasant and comfortable. We didn’t have any towels for showering when we arrived and had to search for them. It was different to have to turn off the switches for outlets and having the water to heat up. Overall, the experience was good

Easy access to main road, Aldi, downtown Fermoy. Food choices in Fermoy seemed limited evenings but Chinese and Indian were very good and reasonably. Place was very cute and all modern!

great experience all the way around!
Exceptionally clean and sanitized top-to-bottom. The furnishings were comfortable and well maintained. A great location in Fermoy, just a short distance to everything in town. The owners were very interactive and I found messages from them in my VRBO inbox as well as emails. I would only be able to rate this experience and property the highest possible.

Lovely property in a great location
This is a lovely home to stay in. The house has everything you need for your stay; everything has been thought about even the pitch and put clubs for the course across the road! The neighbourhood is really quiet and neighbours are very nice. Excellent location. If I was to suggest one thing, it would be to maybe have a washer/dryer instead of just the washing machine. It was a fantastic find for us and I would not hesitate to recommend it to others. Thanks ladies.

Extremely small space
The house is incredibly small - we actually debated renting somewhere else as soon as we arrived. The kitchen is tiny - virtually impossible to cook with two people - dining table is tiny too. We stayed in 4 different houses in Ireland this was our least favorite.

Excellent property. Very easy to find and Gillian and Kelley provided us with everything we needed to know about the house. Very impressed with the property and the facilities in the house. Fermoy review.
I know Fermoy well as I have family living in the town. It was nice to have our own base as it has been a busy time. The property provided the comfort and the privacy that we needed. We were able to walk in to the town from where we were. We also walked to my parents house in the Cork Rd.

Home away from home in friendly Fermoy!
Myself, Husband and Daughter are just back from this lovely stay, Contactless Check-in was smooth and straightforward, the Neighbours were so friendly and made the effort to say hi and welcome us. The house was so cozy with everything we needed for our stay and the location was great with Aldi and Iceland just a short stroll away. We would definitely come back again!

I was impressed with the property overall however it was a little chilly in the evening (late November). We were out most of the time so didn't want to light the fire later in the evening before bed. Possibly a convector/fan type heater would be useful in the winter months. The only other suggestion I would make is a net/voile curtain in the lounge so can open the curtains but still have some privacy in the day.

A pleasant spot
House is generally comfortable but did not have essential information about emergency services and rubbish disposal. Owners will correct this. Could do with better lighting in sitting room. Beds very comfortable and house clean and generally very acceptable. If I needed to return to the same area, it would certainly be considered.

Very nice place located in a wonderful little village. Great for people working at Moorepark
We loved this little duplex. The neighbors are very friendly and invited us for tea. The village seems small at first, but there is so much to do. My husband enjoyed the "boot" camp, Thai massages, and sailing lessons (50 min drive away). I appreciated an easy walk (40 min) to Moorepark - Teagasc. The people in town are extremely friendly. There is a beautiful hike next to the river that runs through town. We enjoyed watching the world cup soccer games in one of the local pubs and always ended up speaking with the locals. Several of the restaurants are quite nice and not at all expensive. The house is close to several supermarkets. We never cooked but the kitchen seemed well stocked. Our hosts were wonderful. They responded immediately if we had any questions. We have stayed in VRBO and AIRBNB all over the world and this is possibly our most positive experience ever!
