No matter where you’re coming from, flying can be a pleasant experience if you’re prepared. We’ve made a list of handy hints that will get your Dresden holiday started on the right note. What to pack in your hand luggage:
- Travelling on a plane can be a pleasure if you’ve got all the right things. Firstly, you’ll want a few toiletry items, such as deodorant and a toothbrush, a spare set of clothes and a good novel. Next, find room in your hand luggage for your phone and charger, any daily medications and maybe a comfy neck pillow as well. Last, but definitely not least, be sure to take your passport, travel docs and some cash.
Do not pack the following items in your hand luggage:
- Double-check that you don’t have sharp objects (like a pocket knife) lurking in the bottom of your carry-on luggage. Other prohibited items include explosive or flammable substances, like aerosols and matches, and gels and liquids in containers larger than 3.4 ounces (100 milliliters).
What to wear on a flight:
- The aisles of your plane are not the best place for a fashion parade. Layer up with comfortable clothing and pack a sweater as it can get chilly inside the cabin during long-haul flights. Flat, slightly roomy shoes are also a good idea.
- Most travellers have heard about deep vein thrombosis (DVT), a blood clot condition caused by reduced mobility or inactivity. There’s lots you can do to lessen your risk. Don a pair of compression socks, stay hydrated and get your legs and feet moving. Walk the aisles of the cabin or try out some simple stretches in your seat.
