Beach Front Any Closer to the Ocean and You'd Need a Wetsuit - Whales Watch

Whales Watch is a one bedroom, 1000 square foot beach front duplex just steps from the beach! Walk out the sliding glass door, and right on to the beach. Sitting at the furthest point out on Heceta Beach, it has sweeping ocean views from the Siuslaw River Jetty to the Heceta Head Lighthouse. Perfect for watching Whales, Bald Eagles, Osprey, Pelicans, Sea Lions and other assorted wildlife. If it we're any closer to the ocean you'd need a wetsuit. The ocean breeze beckons you to sit on the patio and soak in the view!

The spacious bedroom has a king size bed with Mediterranean Oak furniture a sitting area and it's own door to the bathroom. It also has an electric fireplace. The living room, kitchen and dining area is one large room right on the beach. There is a large hallway and utility room separating the two, with another entrance to the bathroom. The living room is furnished with comfortable overstuffed slipcovered furniture and a mix of Antiques & Rattan. The love seat turns into a twin hide-a-bed. With a dining room table for 4, and a 2 person bar there's always a place to eat and enjoy the view. Electric Faux Fireplace adds to the ambiance. The kitchen is well stocked with everything from wine glasses, blender, crock pot, microwave, bread maker, electric range, dishwasher, refrigerator & even a turkey roasting pan.

The owners parents were at one time, 'world travelers', so the furniture comes from around the world, and so do the Original Fine Art oil paintings. The 1902 Bush & Gertz Cabinet Grand (upright) Piano is tuned & ready to have it's ivory's tickled. We've even thrown in some sheet music, but if you have a favorite bring it along.

Well Rested Stay
It was just as pictured and advertised, right on the beach in a nice quiet neighborhood. The property was clean and comfortable and we enjoyed it immensely. We were in the middle of a four week vacation and used this week to rest and relax on the beach. It was absolutely great!! If we get to this region again, we will stay here again. We both loved it!!

The weather was awesome! Except for some wind on a couple of the days. But all in all it was a great time. The house was clean when we arrived, and it is steps from the ocean. A wonderful place to stay and the owner even was kind enough to send us a watch that we left behind. I highly recommend this place!

This is such a cute and clean little place right next to the beach. You can literally walk right out the door and onto the sand. No neighbor to one side which is amazing. Great views! They had everything you could need.

Whales Watch felt welcoming as soon as we walked in. Everything you can think of is provided, from the incredibly well stocked kitchen to the comfort and warmth of the king sized bed. Perfect vacation getaway. This was a little home away from home with so many extras included. Fully stocked kitchen, from waffle maker to blender and ice in the freezer. Washer, dryer, extra linens and blanket to ensure a cozy stay. We were right on the beach and could hear the ocean while fixing dinner then went down to put our toes in the sand with the chairs they provided! I have told family and friends about this place and will be visiting again!

Graciously appointed, just like the comforts of home! Extremely comfortable, large bed; super comfy chairs. Kitchen has every utinsel you may need, (could use a crab cracker, though) ! Pet friendly, just the PERFECT get-a-way!

Amazing oceanfront property in Florence
Everything was top-notch. Very clean, easy check-in, great communication with the host. The apartment is wonderfully appointed with just about anything you could think of. The kitchen was highly functional, and we cooked all our meal -- didn't eat out once. There is a Keurig coffee setup and various teas provided, as well as basic cooking supplies like spices. The living room is great to wind down in -- and if you're a reader like I am, the room is wonderfully lit for reading. There are board games and DVDs. The bedroom is spacious with a king bed -- firm but not hard, and the bedlinens are high-quality, very comfy. The beach access is hard to beat -- just open the sliding glass door, step off the gravel, and there is the sandy path to the water. The view over the dunes from the living room and kitchen is stunning. There are so many incidentals provided in this apartment, it's hard to remember all of them. There is a folding stepladder to assist those of us who are short reach the upper kitchen cabinets. There is a cocktail service area. There is a set of binoculars in case seals or whales swim by and you want a closer look. There is a washer/dryer should you need to do laundry. For warmer weather (my trip was in December) there are outdoor/beach recreation items like folding beach chairs, picnic setups. There is a secretary in the bedroom with stationery and writing implements, among other things one would keep in a typical desk. I will be back!

Perfect Beach Spot!
My husband and I thoroughly enjoyed our stay! We enjoyed our walks on the beach, visiting Heceta Head Lighthouse, hiking the Hobbit Trail, and dining at the Florence restaurants. The house had all the conveniences of home and it was wonderful to be right on the beach!

The views are amazing from this adorable apartment!
Quaint, quiet town with a laid back beach feel. Leslie has created an eclectic and comfortable apartment with amazing views. You can walk right out onto the beach and watch all the wildlife you want from the kitchen/living room. Unfortunately, the wildfires kept the air quality low, but fortunately that gives us an excuse to come back after the fires! If you need anything or have any concerns Leslie is right there to help out! Check out Nosh and Restobar in Florence for amazing dinner options!

Great place was very clean and quaint. I couldn't have dreamed of a better location right on the beach. we could walk out the door onto the beach. We walked on the beach every morning for about 3 miles. Bob was great to talk to. Leslie was very accomadating. We have only been gone 1 day and we already miss Whales Watch.

Beautiful Heceta Beach
The property and location are perfect for beach lovers. On the Oregon coast in June few people are in the cold water but it is spectacularly beautiful to view and walk on the expansive beach. Leslie was great and the property is amazing. The layout and availability of beach supplies, piano, books, cocktail mixing set and recipes assure entertainment in any weather. We had only sunshine and enjoyed the drive to Old Town Florence for terrific meals.

Thank you for a lovely stay. Enjoyed the comfortable space and proximity to the ocean. Lots of charming touches that felt special. Town is not far either, everything was so convenient. Big recommend to Little Brown Hen in Florence for a hefty, well-made breakfast.
