54 STAIRS. It is on the "second" floor, no elevator, but it's not the second floor, it's the second hotel. After a long day of travel those stairs are a killer with suitcases. Their website does say no elevator, but it also says 2nd floor. Room was nice, big, a little tired looking, but clean. The shower door only opens about 12 inches so if you are overweight, no shower for you. Breakfast was a good continental spread, cappucinos were awesome. If you can avoid room 6, you should. It is between the top of the stairs and reception and right across from the kitchen, and therefore gets quite loud at times. Overall pleasant experience

If you would like to experience Florence as a local, this hotel is perfect for it! Walking distance to the main piazza (Duomo and shopping) and many restaurants near by serving phenomenal food.

The apartment was not in the building announced. They sent us to another location. The outside looked terrible and the building in the inside too. It was very small. It was late and we didn't have a choice but to stay because it was not refundable.

It was really damp in the room, the bathroom was super small, no lift, I fell on the floor bcs the bathroom floor was all wet after the shower, because there was no proper draining, it smelled awful like mold, it just totally ruined my impression about the stay((( The lady the owner was nice though, but they definitely need to do something with draining, smell, the damp.

We enjoyed our stay in the hotel - it was clean and close enough to get to the Duomo and museums. The room was air-conditioned (bonus) and the breakfast was simple but quite delicious. The building and facilities were a little on the older side but it offered my family a room to accommodate 4 people and it was positive experience overall.

Do not stay here. They overbooked and were out of hotel rooms when I arrived so I got moved to an appartment a couple blocks away. I just went with it because I was only staying a couple nights and didn't want to look for somewhere else, this was a mistake. Appartment had bugs of some kind, woke up with lots of bites. Also missing certain promised amenities including Wifi.

I loved Mararita’s customer service.Always willing to help and very pleasant. The hotel needs to update the bathroom too small and falling apart. Besides that the location and breakfast was good. I’ll use this hotel again if the faculty gets an update.

Very nice place for the value. The property needs a bit of upkeep. There was a plumbing issue which was sorted out during my stay. The host Margarita was excellent. Most helpful and friendly with good advice. Older people or those with heavy luggage may not book because they may have to walk up 2/3 flights of stairs to get to the hotel reception and rooms.

The property is well located near the center of the city. It takes only 10 or 12 minutes to all the main attactions. The staffs are bilingual and super friendly and super nice. Very safe area where is located specially for families.

Good breakfast Good service. The staff speak English which was very helpful for us. Good location. Clean room Unfortunately the bathroom smelled so bad. It's the raw egg smell you get when water is stagnant for a while. The shower area is designed such that the water seaps onto the floor where the toilet is and drains back. Water gets stagnant in that process and honestly not bearable. The pillows were so overused that i had trouble sleeping, but the beds were good.

The hotel was OK but we booked too late and ended up paying close to $250 a night which was much too much for what we got. On the plus side the staff was very helpful and friendly. The breakfast was simple but nice with some excellent torts and cake. It was clean. The location was good - about a 15 min walk to the center. On the minus side, it's in a converted older apartment building and the entrance is 54 steps up on the third level with no elevator - not for the infirm with heart conditions and/or heavy luggage. The room was on the small side with inexpensive but not uncomfortable beds. I think there was a mirror, but nothing else on walls - even Italian prison cells get a crucifix ;-) Bathroom was an add-in and very small. In short, if you can get this place for a decent price and all you are looking for is a place to stay, then this place is fine.
