Watch the morning sun rise over the Atlantic Ocean from this beautiful oceanfront home on the shores of Folly Beach! Spend your days swimming and sunbathing, and come home to rinse off in the outdoor shower, recline in the island breeze on the two covered porches and the lower-level deck overlooking the water, and relax with your loved ones in a pair of lovely living/dining areas.

The ocean beach is right outside your back door, and the famous Folly Beach Pier is less than a mile east. When you're not fishing, surfing, kayaking, boating, or engaging in a number of other fun island activities, you'll find a wealth of shopping and dining all along Center Street (one mile east) in the heart of town. Downtown Charleston, with its centuries of history and incredible restaurants, is just 12 miles north as well.

Bachelorette weekend
The views to this house are amazing. We did have a few hiccups. First code sent to me for check in was wrong, the grill wasn’t working but they did provide a new one. Lastly one of the showers the hot water handle was stripped, luckily the maintenance guy bob was great! Overall it was an okay stay, but due to the price per night I expected better

Moderate property that sleeps plenty in a prime location
If 3.5 stars was an option, I'd probably give it that score, but my personal bias leads me to bump it up to 4. The house is not one of the newer ones, so you have to adjust your standards a bit. Lots of bedrooms, not the massive open living areas a more modern house might have. But we've been coming to this exact house since 1992 because we love it. It has been nicely updated since we started coming here, still sleeps a ton of people and has two nice kitchens, but the insulation is lacking (you hear every noise at night) and the furniture is a little rickety (wobbly headboards that hit the wall). For a prime beach location, it's just what we need (although the newer neighboring houses have been built closer to the beach so it limits your views in either direction and the shrubs have been allowed to get somewhat out of control, which limits the direct beach view from the back porch). This was our first time booking through Vacasa, though, and we loved dealing with them. The local Folly Team was A+. We loved dealing with them and would again in a heartbeat.

The upstairs of this property had big rooms & a wonderful view of the ocean. The downstairs had the same great views & a big kitchen. The bedrooms downstairs were small, not enough room to move around. The bathrooms were small & the toilets werent bolted to the floor. the living room downstairs was also small so we used the upstairs as our family sitting area. .There was a lot of dog hair on the furtniture left over from previous guests & a lot of sand on the floors.

Here were the drawbacks to this house- only one coffee maker that worked, one table had a wobbly leg, one kitchen drawer was broken, the outside shower could be improved. Sounds like "rich people" problems, right? The house had some shaggy spots but that's how a beach house should be. We had a couple of "needs" while we were there and Vacasa was fast and very responsive to each request. We had 2 babies and the house worked great for our family situation- great space to be spread out and large enough to come together. The beach access was excellent. We had a great time and would stay there again. I would really give it 4 1/2 stars.

Great location, smelled like wet dog
I will never stay at a Vacasa rental property again. 90 minutes before we were supposed to check in, I received a call/email stating that there was a maintenance issue with our rental and we could choose to move to another location. The option given was a condo that was not beachfront (we had originally booked a house on the beach.) After 70 MINUTES on the phone, I finally spoke to the manager who moved us to this new location. Once there-the door code did not work, the bed linens were stained and had holes, and the upstairs couch had white dog hair and smelled of wet dog. We had to cover the couch with towels and comforters and well as use perfume to try to mask the smell. We were thoroughly disappointed with the entire experience.

The house overall is a great place to stay. I don't know if the owners are aware of some things that need to be addressed. The four chairs on the upper floor are all in need of having the cushions replaced. They are all torn and in bad shape. Two of the lights under the cabinets in the upper kitchen do not work - very dark in there. The hair dryer does not work. The floor in the bathroom on the first floor is soft like there is a leak that needs to checked. Some of the sockets on the first level are hanging out and need to be secured. This is a great house, but the owners need to do some updating and repairs!

Great place for a large family group
We had 5 different families together. This place worked great as it gave us plenty of spaces for everyone to spread out or come together. Pictures need updated- the upstairs has a nice sectional couch, not rhe blue one. There are also 2 bunks in a closet not listed in the beds. There are the normal, over rented without maintainemce issues- the upstiars sink sprayer was broken, the remotes had all been moved around so we had to play remote monoploy to get the tvs all set up (and inly vasic channels but come on, we were at the beach!), but overall it was a great week. The water is hot, even with all those showers. Plenty of clean towels, beds were newer memory foam mattresses and comfy, lots of parking and sand toys galore that previous renters left behind. Two kitchens made it nice with all the families, as did the 2 balconies and a deck. Being a Vacasa house had ne worried bc of othwrs opinions, but they replied to any text within minutes and there is a staffed office within 3 miles.

Basic beach house with upgraded kitchens.
It’s hard to find 4 bathrooms and 6 bedrooms at an affordable price which this was but set your expectations properly before renting. Great location but picture sliders that are hard to open, close and secure with no screens. No screens on the windows. A propane grill that is on its last legs and they don’t provide propane. Overgrown bushes so you can’t see the water from the first floor or deck. A dining room table with a sticky finish so you can’t play cards without improving a tablecloth. Internet that was out until Thursday on a Monday to Saturday rental because the owner didn’t pay the bill and the management company couldn’t make it happen. The owner hiding behind a blind LLC so not reachable. When the internet was provided it was a hotspot with very low bandwidth. A master bedroom that has two queen beds jammed in it so you have to walk sideways to get around the room. Only thin bedspreads provided with sheets. No blankets. All mostly easy fixes but clearly no interest to address any of it. Again very basic beach house except the two nicely upgraded kitchens but minus a Kuerig. Also a small table and only 2 deck chairs in a house that sleeps 14 or so.

Good size for our four generation family vacation
The size worked well as we had family members between the ages of 1 and 83. The layout was great for family and the big room upstairs was a great gathering place. It lacked enough kitchen towels (only had thin paper towels) and potholders so might want to bring your own. Plenty of parking and access to beach is great! Locks on sliding doors were difficult to use and some electrical outlets did not function. After staying in a vacation rental, My husband always asks me: would you stay there again? The answer is yes but might look at other properties also, ie I wouldn’t just go back to this place on a return visit to Folly.
