The craftsmanship of this cabin is a work of art. Nestled on the mountainside, the cabin was built from reclaimed timbers. It is Non-Smoking, Pet-Free and located minutes from DeSoto State Park County Store and about 5 miles from downtown Mentone. Enjoy a dip in the hot tub after a day full of fun. (The hot tub is drained, cleaned and refilled with new water after each guest.). The kitchen and bathrooms have been beautifully remodeled while keeping the original beams and timbers in place. Enjoy cooking in a fully equipped kitchen with sleek new stainless steel appliances and marble countertops. Take your pick upstairs or downstairs - Begin your day in a custom walk-in shower with natural slate tile and river rock, a rain shower head, and frameless glass shower door surround. Cozy up next to a fire in the fire pit and admire the stars. Enjoy hiking, sightseeing and exploring in nearby Historic Mentone, DeSoto State Park, DeSoto Falls, and Little River Canyon. Take in a round of golf at one of the local golf courses or go horseback riding through the trails in the foothills of the Appalachian Mountains. The area has so much to offer. We drove passed this cabin for the past 25 years and never knew it was there! Tucked in to the trees and into the side of a hill. Gorgeous interior. Lots of repurposed pieces and expertly incorporated. Very airy and open. It feels like you are in a tree house but you aren't!

As a couple that had never visit this part of Alabama, we were pleasantly surprised by the area and the things to do during our stay. What made that even better was the stay at Nathan and Stacy's remodeled cabin. Everything there was just as presented in the VRBO listing. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay there and know that others will as well. When we get back to this area again we will staying in this cabin again iof available.

Peaceful Serenity
This beautiful cabin was a perfect place for me to go and get away for a week of reflection. It is located right next to Desoto State Park for some nice hiking if you enjoy that. The cabin itself is really well put together and comfortable. I went in the winter and the had left a ridiculous number of fuzzy blankets to cuddle up with and I spent many an hour in front of the gas stove reading and relaxing. They have a nice selection of pots and pans and utensils, so if you want to cook some meals you can. It is really obvious that the cabin is well taken care of and the owners really want you to enjoy your stay.

Everything was so clean, tidy, and homely. They left no stone unturned when putting necessities in there for daily use. You can pack your clothes and some laundry soap and go. :) we really appreciated the step by step directions provided the day of check in as cell signal was pretty spotty so gps was in and out. Thank you to the hosts. We will be back!

Birthday couples getaway
My husbands birthday is 1-1 and he wanted some place quiet so we could relax. The property was just as listed. Decorated beautifully and the kitchen had all the things we would need to make a meal. The hot tub is just big enough for the two of us and has curtains that can be pulled for privacy by the road. The road runs in front of and on the side of the house, so we saw a lot of cars but there wasn’t much noise at all and we slept well. It took us a day to figure out the thermostats, upstairs was 77 degrees when we got there but downstairs was significantly cooler. If you roast in the heat like I do, maybe ask about the temperature controls ahead of time. We went into Fort Payne and ate at Little River Burgers and Brews, it was Fantastic! We would highly recommend. We were going to go back today for a new years/birthday lunch but they were closed. All in all we wish we could’ve stayed longer and enjoyed drinking wine. Relaxing and playing games. The manager provided several! Checkers/chess, Yahtzee, clue, scrabble. It was a perfect couples getaway after a busy wedding year and it was much needed. Would highly recommend and hope to visit again some day!
