Includes use of 2 bikes, 2 kayaks, and 2 paddleboards! This property truly provides all that is needed for a wonderful family vacation!
The house is along the luxurious south shore of Crystal Lake, which boasts many luxurious homes of over $1M in value (including this one). The neighborhood is primarily made up of vacation homes of professional families.
Outside of the immediate neighborhood, the home is just a few miles from downtown Frankfort, which has a charming collection of shops, restaurants, cafes, and a microbrewery (Stormcloud). Frankfort also has a fantastic public beach on Lake Michigan and a popular historic lighthouse. Crystal Lake Paradise is also less than a 30-minute drive from both the start of Sleeping Bear Dunes National Lakeshore (to the north) as well as Crystal Mountain Ski Resort (to the southeast).
The house is also only about a 1-hour drive east to Traverse City. Traverse City is the business, arts, recreation, entertainment, dining, and shopping hub of all of Northern Michigan and it provides a vast variety of "bigger city" things to see and do.
Please note that 2 bedrooms (Bedrooms #1 and #2) are on the first floor. The other 2 bedrooms (Bedrooms #3 and #4) are on the second floor. There are 2.5 bathrooms on the first floor and 1 bathroom on the second floor.
In addition to the previously mentioned outdoor items, on the private beach there is a beach box with beach toys for kids, including two boogie boards, pails and shovels. Also in the beach box are 4 adult life vests and 2 children's vests as well as 2 foam noodles. On the beach are two stand up paddle boards and two kayaks. There is also a private swim raft that is in approximately 4 ft of water. There are also two bikes in the garage. (Helmets are not provided though.)
Please note the following:
1) The guest who made the reservation must be present at check-in and must present photo ID at the time of check-in.
2) Under NO circumstance can pets be allowed. The owners have severe allergy issues.
3) Neither of the fireplaces are usable. Use of the fireplaces is strictly prohibited!
4) East South Shore Drive runs between the house and the lake so you do need to cross the road to get to the lake from the house.
5) The home has a somewhat rickety spiral staircase from the first floor to the second floor. It may be slightly hazardous for elderly persons and young children and guests are advised to use it with caution.
6) Air conditioning is available in sleeping quarters via multiple mini-split room air conditioners. Please note that the house does NOT have central air conditioning and that not all of the house is air conditioned.
7) The dock is not available for use with motor boats or pontoon boats.
8) The property is strictly limited to no more than 8 guests and no more than 4 vehicles.
9) Overnight mooring of boats at the property is not permitted. Smaller boats (peddle boats, kayaks, paddle boards, row boats, etc.) can be beached on the shore.
10) No more than 4 vehicles are permitted at the property at any time.
11) For the sake of neighbors, we ask guests to observe quiet hours from 10:00 PM until 8:00 AM.
12) On a separate, but adjacent, lot behind the property, the property owners own a garage that has a second floor apartment above the garage. The second floor apartment may be used by the owners on occasion.
