Very comfortable small cottage surrounded by goats and chickens. Great for dog. Convenient to city amenities . Charming host on site and very responsive
The place is small but very cozy. It was perfect for our short getaway with the pets. It’s not often you find somewhere you can bring three dogs so that was a huge plus as we can rarely travel with our dogs. It’s very much an old building but they’ve made it super cute and the bed is extremely comfortable. We loved staying here and plan to book it for other visits home!
Had a great time at the cottage. We stayed 2 nights while traveling between home and Virginia Beach. It was my spouse and 6 year old, plus our two dogs. Everything was clean, the animals were a huge hit with my daughter. Also, communication with the host was flawless. The only recommendation I would have is an adjustment to where the shower head is located in the shower. Would stay again.
Nice cottage, good for our small grp plus 1 pup, med sz. Nice dogs are welcome :) We were delayed at ck in due to terrible weather & traffic, so we arrived after dark. Did get to walk around the property & visit with some of the animals next morning. A fun perk, enjoyed the country, farm setting.
The 1840’s cabin was perfect. Everything worked well, it was clean and very comfortable. The host was very kind and responsive to our needs. During the stay I recognized that our last names were the same and he told his mother after we spoke. The next day Carol Ann (host’s mother) and I spoke about genealogy and before we left through her research we found out we were related. What a surprise! She shared an printed up packed with the research with me. I will always be thankful to her and for our visit.
We also loved the little trail at the back of the property, the goats, chickens and the donkey. So relaxing and convenient to our visit with our son. Thank you so much!!!
The cottage is adorable, as are the animals on site! Communication with the host was clear and pleasant. I loved that I was able to bring my dog. Will definitely be staying here again.

Great communication and ideal location. Was extremely clean and the bed was very comfortable. We only stayed one night and it was perfect. We were traveling from Ohio to the Outer Banks. We will be stopping here each time we make that trek. I would recommend this location to anyone.
My child and I loved the cute and cozy feel of this location! The property is surrounded with cute animals! We only stayed one night on our roadtrip home! But we still had a wonder Time!
Loved how cosy and cute the house is, loved the tranquility of the surrounds, loved the ease of the booking, communication and entire process. Will definitely come back if ever in the area again!!
It was more spacious than we expected. There was some high grass where you go in and out and we got our shoes and pants pretty wet. We didn’t see any animals. Place was very cleanAnd the bed was very comfortable.
No pictures of the outside of our accommodation was given on VRBO. The host responded quickly to any concerns. The property was huge with lots of animals. The donkey was the highlight and the new baby goats. The grounds could use some up keep and love put into it.
The house is a nice little place to stay, very quiet and away from noises. Easy to find. The goats were very cute to watch. Didnt get a chance to use the pool but looked like a nice place to cool off after exploring the area. Was about 20 min to downtown historic Fredericksburg but wasnt a bad drive. Only challenge i had was the shower is on the smaller side, a moveable showerhead would make it easier.
If you have balance issues this is not for you! Floor is unlevel and unstable! It was beautiful weather and we couldn’t open one of the two windows in the bed room to get a cross breeze because of a missing screen.
