The hotel is a 5 minute walk to the river and staff extremely welcoming and helpful
The room was clean and bed extremely comfortable. Breakfast was very good and worth doing.
Majority of the places that we were visiting were not walkable so used Uber all the time and prices were very competitive. Didn’t use a taxi and were told to be careful and if we did to go by the meter and not agree a price - several people had said that they had been ripped off
If you go to the Jerónimos Monastery we had to cue for over 45 minutes in the heat which seems to be the norm. Once inside there is no where to sit so be aware you could be along time on your feet
For football fans the Benfica Stadium and museum tour is good but pitch was being relaid so couldn’t go on it. Sporting were undergoing renovation work so were unable to get inside the stadium - conclusion probably better to do the visit during the football season.
One other thing to be aware of is the tic tic vehicles - we were warned off them and from what we saw was probably correct plus they are expensive

My stay here was better than expected. I had a red-eye flight and arrived at the property at around 7:30 am. I requested an early check-in. While, they didn't have the room ready, they offered me complementary brunch for free. They then were able to get me checked in by 11:30 for a nap even though standard check-in wasn't until 3:00 pm. Hotel was generally quiet and was not a big hotel - 5-6 floors, and a few rooms per floor. The area was perfect - right in the middle of Baixo and Chiado, allowing access to sights and bars in both directions. Also right next to a famous church that was turned into a museum as well as a historic gothic elevator / lift providing great views of the city. Clean room and I was on the 5th floor, also with a great view of the city. Would definitely come back again.
