Is located on a hill northeast of funchal, in a side road and in a quiet area of detached houses, has an odd view of the amphitheater of funchal, the atlantic ocean and mountains, the distance from the airport international de funchal is 15 minutes and 8 minutes by car from the center of the capital-funchal, it is a starting point for the whole island. Its interior is spacious and comfortable. Has a large terrace across the facade of the apartment, all bedrooms have direct access to the terrace with table and chairs. It also has direct access to the property's large tree-lined gardens, barbecue with table and chairs, leisure areas where you can also enjoy an outdoor lunch, read or just relax.

AMAZING Sunset View of Funchal and the Island
The views and the breeze from the apartment were stellar. The apartment itself is a little funky but we had everything we needed. We LOVED the full-on views from the living room and bedrooms and the gardens all around . We very much appreciated the washer and dryer! Sadly, we couldn't sleep with the patio doors open for the fresh air because way down below is a highway with motorcycles racing in the middle of the night and my husband is sensitive to noise when sleeping. Filomena sometimes took a bit to respond but she was helpful and I really appreciated that she made a haircut appointment for me with a good stylist during our stay which was badly needed. The apartment is up multiple steep hills so it is not a walkable area but we found a few good restaurants close by that we drove to and of course ate in Funchal and other places around the island. The driving on Madiera is a challenge! The GPS kept lagging at crucial moments, but we learned to allow at least double the time on the GPS and did a lot of u-turns or round-about turns -all part of the experience of being on such a gorgeous mountain. We enjoyed out stay here very much.

the view is stunning, The drive up the hairpins was a thrill. A short drive or Bolt into Funchal. Central to the all the sites. Not far from the airport. Filomena is very pleasant and accommodating host. We very much enjoyed our stay, the Toboggan, Pico arreeira at sunrise. A meal at Williams and the 90degree fro sunset. Thoroughly enjoyed our visit

Nice apartment with great views
Spacious apartment with 2 good size bedrooms and spacious kitchen/ diner. Well equipped kitchen and lovely terraced garden. The apartment is the middle of 3 apartments of a large house, it's located in quiet residential area about 5 km from Funchal in the hills. Great views of Funchal and harbour from the balcony which is west facing so you don't get the sun til later in the day. There is also a pleasant BBQ area to relax in. There is a bit of road noise from the motor way. I would recommend a car - there's easy on street parking there are also buses into Funchal a short walk away. Filomena was very helpful and communicative, there's lots of books leaflets etc on walks and visits. We really enjoyed our stay - thank you Filomena !

Do not miss out!
Wow! This place was the highlight of our two-month stay in Portugal. The pictures do not do it justice! Amazing views of the city of Funchal from the hills of São Gonçalo, yet only a short drive into downtown (accessible by bus, but car is recommended). The property grounds have a wonderful garden. The apartment is fully stocked with everything you might need. Fantastic water pressure in the shower. Filomena was an incredible host who went above and beyond to make sure that we were welcome and comfortable. We arrived with an injured knee and she made sure that we were well taken care of and knew how to access the hospital system. 10/10 for us and would stay here again in a heartbeat. We are already missing the amazing sunsets visible from every room!

This was a fabulous villa with an incredibly nice and welcoming hostess. Filomena was a great hostess. She arranged for our transportation to the villa from the airport and met us there the first night to greet us and gave us lots of helpful tips to make our stay better. It has a beautiful view and is in a quiet location. Highly recommended!

Best Holiday Home Rental in Madeira
My friend and I thoroughly loved our stay in Filomena's apartment. It was clean and comfortable, we had everything we needed for a cosy stay. Most things turned out better than in the pictures, particularly the spectacular view of Funchal! (You can also see Ronaldo's house if you know where to look) We'll be back in Madeira again and will return to stay at Filomena's perfect apartment!

Amazing views
The apartment is located in an upscale area overlooking Funchal. The grounds seem like a botanical garden with walking paths and sitting areas. We did not have a car and there are no restaurants within walking distance. However the bus stop is just around the corner and it was fun to go into Funchal, spend the day, then return to the beautiful setting. We loved our stay and would book again.

What an incredible experience. Madeira is such a beautiful place with a lot to see. I was glad that I had a car. Downtown Funchal was easy to get to and the place was so comfortable and clean. Our hostess was wonderful and exceeded our expectations. Views of the bay were awesome.

High up in Funchal with great views
Although it was a distance from the city centre, the apartment's huge panoramic windows and balcony provided amazing views. It was a nice break from the busy city. We were very high up and a few times in the clouds. We did well taking city buses for a short ride down to the city just about every day. The apartment had everything we needed for a comfortable stay. Our host Filomena was very helpful, warm and friendly. A great way to experience Funchal!

We would make the same choice again
Fantastic views of the ocean, the city and the hills above no matter whether you're inside or outside. Very well equipped kitchen. Nice welcome from Filomena who was there to show us around and makke us feel at home. We stayed there the first week of March and it was sometimes quite chilli in the apartment which has no heating. Instead there is a small transportable radiator but of course you can only have that in one room at a time. In spite of this we loved staying there and we'll want to stay there again if or when we go to back to Madeira.

This is a lovely apartment with incredible views. It is well stocked if you want to cook for yourselves. The beds are comfortable and it has a great bathroom. Parking is no problem and Funchel city centre is less than 10 minutes away by car. Filomena was an excellent host and responded quickly to our enquires.

It’s quite a winding steep road up to the property (but we used Bolt drivers so it wasn’t an issue), so don’t plan on taking walks from here, but the landscaping, gardens, outdoor spaces and the views were so charming. Filomena, the owner, was very responsive and helpful. The apartment is stocked with everything you need.

Absolutely incredible view over Funchal in a spacious and comfortable appartment
Stunning view of Funchal from the living room, both bedrooms and the long balcony along the front. Lovely peaceful and green garden although some traffic noise from the motorway lower down the hill. Filomena, the host, was excellent and spoke both French and English with us. Everything our family of four needed, including good WiFi for both occasional work and multiple mobiles. All facilities, just leave the water to re-heat after the first couple of showers. Parking on a quiet street but it is possible to squeeze a small car onto the drive if preferred. Excellent bus right down to the marina just 2 mins walk away. Beware of steps and steep slopes - not ideal for the infirm but once in the apartment it's all on one floor. We stayed 9 nights and could easily take the bus into town or drive through or out of Funchal in multiple directions. Convenient for Pico do Arieiro if you have a hire car and highly recommended to get up early for the sunrise from the top. It would be possible to ride or mtb down from the peak directly to the house without needing to go through the city but I wouldn't fancy the ride up! The local bus also goes near to the Jardim Botanico from which you can take a cable car to the Jardim Tropical.

Fantastic middle floor apartment on steep slope with stunning view over the Funchal amphitheatre
One of the best apartments we have stayed in. Two spacious bedrooms, lounge/diner with kitchenette. Very fully equipped. The proprietor Filomena is very friendly and helpful. She explained everything really well in English (I know she knows French as well) and nothing was too much trouble for her. The garden is really beautiful and well cared for. Like most places in Madeira, the property is on a very steep slope. There are about 20 steps down from the road to the entrance. Road access is (again typically) via a very steep and winding road. We had a fantastic time and could not recommend this property too highly.

We really enjoyed our stay in Madeira. The apartment was a good base for all the activities we wanted to do and Filomena was really friendly and helpful. We hadn’t realised how close we were to the main road, which you can see and hear pretty clearly, but it didn’t spoil the enjoyment. The garden is beautiful, the view over Funchal is spectacular and access to the road network made exploring the island very easy. We were glad to have a car.

Filomena was a delightful and charming host. She collected us from the airport and drove us to the apartment, which is really lovely. The garden outside is stunning and built on terraces with lovely flowers and tropical plants. Everything we needed was in the apartment and everything worked very well. The view from the balcony is stunning and we really enjoyed the bus rides in and out of Funchal on the 33 bus as they come up and down the mountain and again there are amazing views on the bus journey. We loved our stay here and would highly recommend staying in this beautiful apartment to anyone. Dominique - 5th June 2017

Très belle découverte !
L'appartement de Filoména est d'une extrême propreté. La vue sur la baie de Funchal, comme d'autres locataires ont pu le dire, est exceptionnelle et on ne s'en lasse pas. L'appartement est très bien équipé au niveau mobilier et vaisselle. Le jardin est superbe. Quant à l'île de Madère, nous revenons ravis. A conseiller : la location d'un véhicule même si le réseau bus est très développé. Les températures n'étaient pas excessives (24 degrés maxi) ce qui est fort appréciable lorsque l'on souhaite faire le maximum de balades.
