Just as Advertised and Better
Right in the middle of great activity but still rural and on the river and mountains. Close to Gallatin Gateway and Big Sky. Hiking, shopping, ATV, horses and rodeo all within 15-30 minutes. Serene and quiet with everything you need. Easy checkin.

Initially dissatisfied but excellent resolution
First and most importantly- 5 stars rating for Ascend Property Management for listening and resolving within hours, our disappointment upon arrival to this property. My review is offered to clarify the listing so other’s expectations are not swayed by the beautiful riverfront pictures and property name. These are accurate but my expected serenity on the back deck overlooking the Gallatin River could never happen because of the busy highway immediately on the other side of a flimsy privacy fence at the top of the hill(slightly visible now that I know it’s there, in one picture). The second major inconvenience is the construction going on next door, fully visible from the fire pit. While this is temporary, I think it should be disclosed while underway, as I would not have chosen this cabin if I had known. And lastly, the property is basically an older hunting/fishing cabin, more so than “a riverside retreat”, as referenced in the property description. The furnishings are showing some wear, the bedding is wearing thin and the mattresses sag where you lay lending to my initial impression of unclean. I must repeat loudly though, my disappointment was handled professionally, acceptable alternative property was offered and our vacation was a success!

Great scenic location right on the Gallatin River
Loved the stay and location. Super close to a ton of activities. 30 min drive to Big Sky and Bozeman 60 mins to Yellowstone. Really enjoyed sitting on the deck with a cup of coffee and watching the river every morning. Can't imagine a more scenic locations. "A River Runs Through It" was filmed on the section of river walking distance from the house. We stayed during a week where the temps were in the 90s so without AC the house got warm, but bearable, during the day. Opening the windows and doors kept the house comfortable though. And it helped that at night the temps dropped to the 60s and cooled the house while we were sleeping. I saw other reviews complain about hearing the highway from the house. We noticed this as well but that would have been the case in any house along the river. There aren't many places along the river that would allow a house to be insulated from the road noise. It wasn't an issue for us and didn't take away from the experience. House was well stocked and the kitchen had everything we needed. Basic cooking items like spices, cooking spray, oils, syrup, etc were all available. When we travel to vacation rentals, we often find the cookware to be lacking but this was not the case here. The knives were even sharp. Loved this trip and would absolutely stay here again!

Unbeatable!
This home was incredible! It does sit near a busy highway but it still feels secluded and private. The river view is steps away from the house and makes everything worth it. It’s located halfway between Bozeman and Big Sky town center…great location and easy access to the home. Access to grilling and the outdoor fire pit was cool. The indoor fireplace was not functioning. Bring coffee! (Filters were left over from previous guest.)

The best stay in Montana
This beautiful home resides on the Gallatin River. The house was beautiful and had everything we needed for cooking etc. Our daughter, and husband who resides right down the street visited often. Our Niece and husband drove from Idaho to visit for the day. What a wonderful fire pit on the side of the house for a family to enjoy the beautiful scenery and river. We definitely will be back. We absolutely loved it.

Right on the river
We spent a week in Bozeman/Galatin and absolutely loved this cabin. It’s perfect. Each room has its own individual heating and it’s easily adjustable. The beds were high quality, along with Ralph Lauren pillows - I slept like a drunk baby. The Internet WiFi was good (high ping times, (800ms) so don’t expect to be gaming), the TV was DirecTV on a nice sized Samsung widescreen. The back deck has the most magnificent view you’ll ever see. It was absolutely amazing. Totally a FIVE STAR cabin. My only complaints are there are no recliners in the cabin (I knew this beforehand), the main back double doors cannot be securely locked (a pin is missing in the secondary door, allowing it to be pushed open) easily remedied. And the highway traffic was much louder than I expected it to be. Lots of big rigs echoing off that cliff edge. Oh and the cabin has a landline phone that’s gets a few calls a day (spam calls). Kind of annoying but we could’ve just unplugged it. But Again - 5 out of 5 stars. The positives FAR outweighed the minor negatives.

Beautiful Location
My husband, daughter and I spent the long weekend here with some visiting friends. The house was clean, beautiful and completely private. The location and view were absolutely stunning! We visited during one of the hottest weeks of the year and the house stayed cool because it gets shade all day long. It is a little on the smaller side but still comfortable and the kitchen is very well stocked. You can’t beat drinking coffee on the river or s’mores on the campfire at night!

Beautiful Location
Came out to the Bozeman area to drop our son off for his freshman year at MSU. The drive from the cabin to MSU was about 30 minutes. The location was beautiful, just like the pictures show, absolutely great for fly fishing. Steps from the Gallatin river. My other two sons took a 3hr fly fishing lesson about 6 miles down the road at Montana White Water then came back to the cabin and fly fished the rest of the time. Great hiking close by, we did the Lava Lake hike (approx 6 miles roundtrip). We really had a comfortable stay at the cabin and would recommend to families, the cabin was well stocked. Only thing they need to add is a steel to sharpen the kitchen knives.
