Nice home, but poor management
Overall the home is nice. Nice outdoor space and pool. There was no outdoor grill on premises as listed in the description. We contacted VRBO via live chat and was told there was an outdoor grill listed in the description and closed the chat! I reached out again and was told the local team would be in touch. I never heard from anyone. Also, no detergent for the dishwasher or any cleaning products to clean the counter tops or stove. This was my first experience with VRBO and it will be my last.

We had a few disappointing events when we arrived. The room you enter was flooded. This was very dangerous and slippery. This was a Vacasa property. We call Vacasa many times to report. They said they would send maintenance but never did and never contacted us after I called and texted almost 10 times, They acted like might help but did nothing. We used our towels to dry up floor so it would be safe and no one would fall. We ask for towels none arrived. We had no wash clothes had to cut up a towel we brought. They said they would give us compensation for our troubles. We have not heard from them as to this yet.

We LOVED our stay in Galveston. This house has great space and comfortable beds! The pool made relaxing at “home” and swimming a breeze. Close enough to walk up the beach and several restaurants! Including the best taco truck! The neighborhood was a delight and quiet. It was a perfect oasis.

BIG FANS!!!!Beautiful historical home close to the ocean! Loved the beach decor every where and kitchen had everything we needed for our stay. All beds were comfortable and a friendly quiet neighborhood. Everything was clean and tidy (except a little mold in the pool). We loved it here and will definitely come back in the future! My 4 and 6 year old “this is so fancy. It so much nicer than our house(which is a brand new build house. Ha!). We want to stay and live here forever!!!”

Goid value for the size. Clean. You need to be prepared to take or buy what has always been included in previous rentals. No wash clothes, no dish washing soap( there was dishwasher soap) no dish clothes or dish towels, no beach towels, no trash bags, no extra blankets. Tried to contact property management and no response.

Great location!
We absolutely loved this location and the pool! The neighborhood is nice and quiet. We came for a cheer competition. This house gave the girls plenty of space to hang out and relax. As moms we also had plenty of space to relax. I would say bring extra towels for pool and bathing. We ran out of towels and wash cloths. Everything else was good. It is not the most updated furniture but it was comfortable.

The property is in need of some upgrades. They also need an exterminator to come out as there was a problem with ants. The children did enjoy their time in the pool. All the children slept in one bed downstairs because there were ants in the bed’s upstairs. I believe once some upgrades are done and the exterminator comes it will be an enjoyable place to stay. I would stay again if I knew the changes took place.

Disappointed about the pool
We chose this house because it had a private pool. But, when we got there the pool was a gross swamp green. We told the owners about it, but they said that it was just treated and safe to swim in. We disagree! There was also a dead rat in a closet upstairs! The house has been updated with appliances, decor and paint, plus close to the ocean. But, don’t rent for the pool.

Positive/Neutral: The property was very clean which is of utmost importance. The house was nicely set up with enough room for everyone. The neighborhood was quiet and seemed safe. The houses in the neighborhood are of small to medium sizes. The beach I would not consider to be within walking distance, but easy close drive. Negative: Poor communication. Texted as specified in the note left at the house. Got a response two days later. The pool is not heated. It would have been nice to have known this ahead of time since the main reason we rented this house was because of the pool and it was too cold to be of any use. Overall would consider staying here again but in warmer weather when the pool would be useful.

We really enjoyed our stay! Lots of bedrooms and sleeping space in a cute and quiet neighborhood. Very close (walking distance) to tons of restaurants and shops as well as beach access along the Seawall. The pool and backyard area was quiet and relaxing when you were ready to get away from the hustle and bustle of tourists. The only downside was only one TV in the house, but if you are looking to get unplugged, don’t need to keep children occupied or don’t need TV time, you’ll be just fine! We were!
