The surrounding area is quiet and a fair distance from any shops or restaurants. The staff, when you could get hold of them. We were staying in Nevers for the motorcycle world championship at nearby Magny Cours. Three days here is long enough."

"This is a lovely and charming cottage in the setting of the farms and vineyards of the Loire Valley. The cottage was beautifully restored with rustic beams, a nice kitchen, and a spiral staircase leading to the bedroom with two comfortable beds and skylights. We were greeted by ducks and chickens in the private front yard and presented a bottle of Sancerre by the owner. "Nice hotel, great staff, clean and comfortable. Large bathroom and I noticed as we left they were installing overhead rain showers. The only slight thing was we arrived on Sunday and the hotel restaurant was closed as was most restaurants. But we ate at a restaurant called the metro around 20 minutes walk away which was fine."
