3BR 3BA Raised A frame Overlooking Tram and Mt LeConte - 5 min to Gatlinburg DT

View the tallest peak Mt. LeConte & watch the tram go by at Bear Alley! Bear Alley is a 2,400 square foot, A-frame chalet located in Chalet Village, built mostly of tongue and groove wood with exposed beams throughout. It has a year-round view of Mount Le Conte and the Ober Gatlinburg Aerial Tramway and a winter view of downtown Gatlinburg. The driveway is easy to use with level parking for multiple cars. There are five flat-screen TV’s with Direct TV, HBO, Internet, Netflix in the all rooms, and WiFi throughout. The walk-space around the back of the cabin serves as an alley for the wildlife—the bears frequent it.

The ground floor has a covered wrap-around patio with a 5-person covered hot tub, built-in charcoal grill, patio chairs, and a great view. Entering the front door on this level, you will find a game room with a large, stone, wood-burning fireplace, regulation-size pool table, 65” flat screen TV, stereo, wet bar with a mini kitchen, and bunk beds. Down the hall is a full-size laundry room and a suite that includes a full bathroom (tub/shower) and a bedroom with a queen-size bed and a private door that opens onto the covered patio.

Going up the stairs, you will enter a fully-equipped kitchen and a great room. The great room has large, vaulted ceilings, another large wood-burning fireplace, a 42” plasma TV with a Blu-ray player, Netflix, DVR, and a dining area that accommodates eight. From the wall of windows on the front of the chalet, you can enjoy the view of Mount Le Conte and the aerial tram to Ober. This level has a wrap-around deck where you can relax and watch the tram go by. You can hear the laughter and squeals of people as they go over Tower 4. The front deck has rocking chairs, patio chairs, and a picnic table that seats six to eight people.

Walking back through the kitchen you will find another suite with a full bathroom (tub/shower) and a queen-size bed. A private door opens onto the deck. There are two ways to reach this level—from the front staircase or from the rear at ground level (only two steps).

Moving up the next flight of stairs, you will find a loft that overlooks the great room. It has a a daybed, a seating area with two Amish rocking chairs, great views, and books to read. Down the hall, you will find a walk-in closet, full bathroom (walk-in shower), and a bedroom with vaulted ceilings and two queen-size beds.

Having a bedroom/bathroom on each level provides families/couples with separate space for privacy. Each bedroom has a flat-screen TV. Our cabin is located less than five minutes away from downtown Gatlinburg, the national park, and Ober Gatlinburg Amusement Park and Ski Area.

"Bear Alley" guests have access to three owners' clubs that offer outdoor swimming, tennis and basketball courts, as well as a clubhouse that includes an exercise room, pool table, ping pong table, and Foosball table. To view pictures of the clubhouses and get more information, go to www.chaletvillageownersclub.com.

Come relax and spend time in a true, mountain chalet. We hope you love it as much as we do.

Had fun with the family
We had a very nice stay in this cabin. It is a very short drive to ober. There was plenty of sleeping space and the pool table was fun. We liked that there were 2 kitchen type areas. The hot tub was clean.

So, the photos are a little misleading. It's not quite a luxurious, spacious and secluded as I thought. That said, it was still a great value. Everything was as described and the location is fantastic. We DID see bears. We had zero issues. The hosts emailed each day to ask if there was anything that we needed or anything that we could do. Bottom line: Money well spent and I'd absolutely stay here again. Probably will, in fact. Pro tip: you can easily drive up the hill to Ober Gatlinburg. It's about 5 mins. We had low expectations, but our 11 year old boy loved it. We spent the better part of the day up there. There is a lot to do. Parking was cheaper than downtown. Then, we took the (sky) tram downtown and had dinner and spent some time, and then took the tram back up. Best bang for the buck for the whole trip!

We had an absolutely fantastic time, the home is exactly what we were looking for and couldn’t of asked for anything more perfect. Just a quick note we we’re enjoying coffee in the morning and had a bear come right down the side of the house it scared us to death…we all calmly got inside and the kids were excited (what a cool/great not to mention scary experience) Bear Alley is no lie . Again thank you for allowing us to stay in your beautiful home we look forward to staying with you in the future.
