"We enjoyed our four night stay at Ashton retreat. We found it a welcoming place to relax and enjoy the established extensive gardens around the retreat.The little touches made it special-a full fruit bowl, fresh milk , a variety of breakfast cereals, fresh coffees and a variety of teas etc. Kate and Andy were very welcoming - - thank you for the delicious homemade berry jam and fresh homegrown rhubarb. We are looking forward to returning in the near future."

A couple of suggestions for the owner to improve the property is perhaps some fly screens on the bedroom for overnight ventilation and an extractor fan in the bathroom/toilet area. Great location being in walking distance of Stirling with great cafes and hotel. Close to all the delights of Mt Lofty/Crafers ranges."

"We loved our stay at Carriage House 1884. Communication from the owners was excellent from the time we booked until after we had left. The location is excellent and we felt quite secluded. The Carriage House itself is absolutely stunning and the surrounding gardens are gorgeous. We appreciated the welcome gifts left for us. "Property is right in the heart of Hahndorf. We were given an upstairs apartment. Not the best if you have large suitcases. The stairway is inside the apartments. Lovely shower although our showerhead needed a good clean and descale. Otherwise all good. Have stayed before and would stay again in a downstairs apartment."
