We were looking for an uncrowded, quiet and quaint lodging option. Wonderful staff, beautiful walks on the beach, incredible room views and the Blue Conch restaurant is delicious. Recommend a car to explore island. Staff arranged taxi to GGT and Emerald Bay Marina. Highly recommend if you are NOT looking for big resort vibe.

If you’re daydreaming about ditching crowds for empty beaches and that crazy blue water you see in postcards, Stocking Island in the Exumas is your spot. And trust me, you’ve gotta check out Saint Francis Resort. Picture this: You walk into your room, fling open the balcony doors, and BAM—the ocean slaps you in the face (in the best way). Miles of perfect sand, zero people. They’ll even boat you to secret mini-islands where it’s just you, some coconuts, and maybe a curious seagull. Swim with pigs? Check. Glide with stingrays? Yep. Watch your kids lose their minds over starfish and sand dollars? Absolutely. It’s like someone dumped a NatGeo documentary into your vacation. Pro tip: Bring waterproof phone cases. Your Instagram will thank you. Leslie picks me up from the airport. Then Chacho zooms me across water so clear you’ll question reality. Desmond hands me a rum punch before you even say "hello." Chef PG is a wizard. His mahi-mahi?Tastes like he caught it that morning (he probably did). Lobster so juicy you’ll lick the plate. And that conch salad? You’ll try to recreate it at home and fail miserably. Eat it every day—it’s the law. Mr Wang and Marie? Legends. Want a private beach dinner? Done. Kid wants to fish at sunrise? They’ll find a rod. If you wish to stay on a lovely small houseboat in the beautiful turquoise water of a quiet island this is it. The resort restaurant is a two minute walk with great Bahamian cuisine. Fresh fish and other choices. The continental breakfast is truly a full fresh breakfast. Everyone knows you and wants to help you. There are fishing tours readily available and we spent a good Part of the week hiking about and lying on the empty beaches. Lots of sailboat cruisers around to chat with and other areas of interest. The most relaxing vacation I have ever taken. It’s not for those who like crowded cruise ships and smoky casinos. This place is for those who love the pure beauty of the exumas
