PLEASE NOTE:
- Five beds sleep a maximum of 8 guests. - Count your kids over 1 in the guest number. - Only booked guests: no daytime or overnight visitors. - It's not ideal for elders (steep stairs) and it's not kid proofed although many families do choose to stay and love it here.
DETAILED DESCRIPTION:
The GROUND FLOOR has a bright dining room with fully equipped open kitchen. The ground floor gives access to a small courtyard and to a basement with a washing machine at your disposal.
There is no classic 'living room', but there are enough cosy corners!
Between the ground and the first floor there is a COSY CORNER with a 4K TV and free Netflix available. Perfect for relaxing after spending a day in the city. Please note: NO digital television or cable, we only offer Netflix & Youtube.
The FIRST FLOOR consists of a bedroom, a bathroom and a private toilet. In this spacious bedroom you'll find a king-size double bed (180x200cm) and two more single beds (90x200cm), perfect for travelling with kids. The bathroom has a bath and rain shower. The private toilet is located in the hallway.
The SECOND FLOOR of our guesthouse has a bedroom with a queen-size double bed (160x200cm), a small bathroom with a rain shower and a private toilet. The private toilet is located in the hallway.
We've transformed the ATTIC in a super cosy bedroom. In here you'll find a queen-size double bed (160x200cm) with the most amazing view of Gent's famous 3 towers and its 'Gravensteen' castle.
WE PROVIDE:
- Clean bed sheets, bath towels and kitchen towels - Free hi-speed wifi - Free Netflix - Ghent guidebook
It's your entire private house. You don't share it with anyone else.
We are available to answer questions and/or trouble shoot throughout your stay via the airbnb message thread.
We might check-in with you during your stay and will send you a farewell message prior to check-out.
Our guesthouse is situated in 'Het Prinsenhof', a medieval gem in the historic city centre of Ghent. ‘Het Prinsenhof’ or Prince’s Court was a grand castle, birthplace of Emperor Charles V (16th century). The neighbourhood is super charming and above all quiet and calm. We are 5 minutes away from the famous 'Gravensteen' castle and 'De Graslei'. There are plenty of nice coffee bars, restaurants and supermarkets within walking distance.
PARKING: Two private parking spots available for €15 / booked night / car.
PUBLIC TRANSPORTATION: The tram stops at the end of the street, in the 'Rabotstraat'. (Maybe a 2 minute walk.) By tram you can easily reach the 'Gent Sint-Pieters' train station. By train you can easily reach the city centres of Bruges, Brussels and Antwerp.
The old staircase is very steep (!) and might not be suitable for very young children or elderly people.

We had a really nice stay here with 4 adults, 2 children and 1 toddler. The house is exactly as described and was really nicely done. The location was nice, quiet and still close to the center.
Just a side note, it was quite hot outside when we were there and the attic bedroom was too warm for us. The other rooms stayed ok with the fans provided and downstairs stayed nice and cool.
What an amazing stay we experienced in Ghent! The house had so much charm. Our boys 11 and 12 absolutely loved it. Huge master bedroom for me and my with tons of sunlight. Great bathrooms, open and cozy kitchen. Right in the heart of the city center, but you wouldn't know because it was so quiet. Easy to get anywhere! Quick tram ride and short walk from Saint Peter train station. Can't recommend enough. Thank you, Jan, for a wonderful experience!
The house was extremely convenient, and all essentials were provided. The owners are very responsive. Just be mindful that homes in this neighborhood might have staircases which are not easily accessible for anyone with mobility issues.
The property is in a perfect location just 5 mins walk along pretty streets to the old town with nice bar and patisserie close by. Quiet day and night and convenient parking nearby. Lovely house, generally as described but be aware the stairs are very steep; difficult to carry a baby or suitcase. Also there are no comfy chairs or proper lounge area apart from the ground floor kitchen.
Cute and unique place to stay with lots of character and a beautiful view from top floor sky light window, also: great location. One note: on the details it mentions there is a first floor bedroom and bathroom. Coming from the US, first floor means ground levelno steps. However, when we arrived, we realized first floor in Europe means the first floor ABOVE the ground level floor, which meant our parents had to navigate the stairs after all.
