"Totally perfect in every way and excellent value for money.
Breakfast bags were a nice and very welcome touch and the cooked breakfast was really tasty.
Cannot fault."
"Difficult to categorise this once magnificent Victorian mansion with its original stained glas windows. Very warm, excellent varied breakfasts. Personal service. Tucked away in a magical corner of Kintyre. Full of secrets & surprises. You wont be dusappointed"
"Arrived to a friendly man who showed me to my room which was great, modern and clean, I ate there as well and food was 20 out of 10 and priced great, sand man served me and he was great. Had a brilliant nights sleep. What more can you ask for, highly recommend. "

A verified traveller stayed at The House at Glenbarr
"A home away from home. Our second stay at this fantastic lodge within 3 months. Our first trip was as a family with 3 young children and the most recent trip with my father and sister. Everything you could need ever need inside and outside from children’s colouring and games to condiments to views of the sea and the most beautiful starry nights. A welcome bottle of wine and chocolate on arrival and Kris was a fantastic host. Thank you very much, hopefully we will be back again very soon"

Auchnabreac Cottage
"Very quiet, peaceful place. The cottage is immaculate, very well looked after. Very friendly humans and dogs. A must if you value time away from the madding crowd....."

"The cottage is cosy, clean and very inviting. Shiskine is a wonderful place to stay, quiet and very appealing. It's very close to Blackwaterfoot, which is beautiful. The Kinloch Hotel does marvellous meals (takeaways too). What really makes the stay worthwhile is the landlady, Jan. Last year, when we couldn't get off the island due to ferry problems, Jan put us up for an extra with no charge. This year, the same problem occurred and, while we were at Lochranza, she texted me to check things were OK. I assured her we were going via Claonaig, but just the idea that she was thinking of us is above and beyond the call of duty. We'd thoroughly recommend this property to anyone. Visit Arran. Stay at Shiskine. You won't be disappointed."

Very comfortable & well equipped accommodation
"A good location for exploring the west of Arran. The property actually seemed more spacious than in the photos. Comfortable beds & 2 good showers. The kitchen is well equipped, should you wish to prepare & cook your own meals. Local buses pass the door which we used. Also very good riding stables 5 minutes away."
