A unique 3-star hotel right in the middle of where you want to be if you're doing the Glenwood Springs tourist thing. Having a brewpub with good food attached is a huge bonus. One note: parking can be a little bit of a hassle and the hotel charges $20, which seem onerous. (Across the bridge, at the other nice hotel where I like to stay, they just give you a parking pass). But it's a clean, upscale-ish place with nice funky rooms and a there's even a coffee shop downstairs.

The property is very modern and the pillows and sheets were memorably comfortable. The 4/5 stars on the property is because the walls are paper thin so you can hear your neighbors at any given time or people coming down the hall which is ultimately fine if you're out and about but might be disorienting for some people. Also, don't expect great shower pressure in the area. Parking was limited and you do have to pay if you want to park in the lots but it's not a huge fee. I liked the dog friendliness of the area and the brewery attached to the hotel is excellent.

All the staff I encountered was incredibly amazing! The rooms were beautifully decorated, extremely comfortable to the fact that I did not want to leave and everything was super clean! I only stayed one night as I was passing through the area, but will specifically plan to go back and stay for a couple days to enjoy the property and its surroundings. This is a must stay hotel!

Lovely hotel with lots of charm! Dog friendly, so my trusty pupper was able to travel with me. Rooms were clean and nicely arranged. Easy to walk to dinner in the evening. I would definitely stay again.

The hotel was lovely! We loved the historic decor and the old-time photos. It was so interesting to learn the history of Glenwood Springs. Everything about our trip was wonderful however, my bed was pretty worn in. I think the mattress needs to be replaced, it was hurting my back so I had to move and sleep in the middle of the bed. Other than the bed, everything else was exceptional!

I was very delighted with my stay at the Hotel Maxwell Anderson. The hotel itself was so lovely! My room was immaculate & the size was exceptional. I thoroughly enjoyed watching the snow fall out my windows as well. There was a little coffee shop just off the hotel, but still inside & I got breakfast there every morning. My coffee & yogurt parfeit were delicious. Pretty much everything was in walking distance & I did walk everywhere my heart desired. I brought my little dog, Gus, & he seemed to enjoy his nice long walks several time a day. I only wish that I had been able to stay longer. Maybe next time I will!

People were great, room looked recently remodeled, was clean, and saw people touching up paint in the hallways. They succeeded where they could but there are some areas that bothered me. 1) historic view was view of a building next door - alley and a wall. 2) the heater was LOUD. My wife came out of the bathroom the first night asking what it was since she heard it without her hearing aids. We ended up turning the heat off at night so I could sleep better. 3) 3rd floor so might have been the problem but minimal water pressure and long time to get hot water. I’m used to this in older hotels but this was one of the worst in a while. 4) Lots of banging / door slams and noise throughout the night. 5) we got an accessible room for some reason so the bed was very low to the floor. The hotel is better located for walking than other historic hotel in the area but not sure if I would stay there again. It was nice - yes. Did I sleep well there - no. We did not spend much time at the hotel, just to sleep and shower in morning. Both of those seemed to miss a bit.

So this is a first to have to report that when we checked into our room, we found men's dirty underwear over by the window. My husband was furious and i was grossed out. When we went to the front desk to report this issue, the young lady seemed blind sided and wasn't sure what to really say. She offered us another room but we had already got settled in and had gotten ready to head to the hot springs. We told the young lady to just have someone go in and grab the underwear. My husband was still pretty disappointed in the whole scenario because it really makes you wonder if the rooms are really cleaned well. Not to mention, we were never even approached by a manager to offer any kind of an apology. Very sad! We did ask the lady to comp our parking for the weekend, which she did. That is another disappointing factor that when you stay at this hotel, they expect you to pay an extra $20 per day (on top of your paid hotel stay) to be able to park in their 2 lots. This is absolutely ridiculous and not customer friendly! Another unfortunate thing was that every time we walked by the front desk, the staff would be bending down to look at their personal cell phones that were under the counter. Geez! We have had a past visit to this hotel, a few years back and it was very pleasant but this time around has made us want to look else where next time. Definitely need to up their customer service practice in alot of areas.

Overall, the property is lovely and well situated. It is convenient for walking to the hot springs, downtown, and local restaurants. Staff were friendly and the rooms had a historic charm. Rooms with a "historic view" had "stained glass" that allowed for privacy and was much nicer than looking at a wall. Unfortunately, the reviews and website failed to mention that they are very pet friendly and do not have a separate section for pets so regular guests are subject to dog hair in their room and common areas, barking dogs in surrounding rooms, dog waste outside, and dog encounters in the lobby and hallways, even when separate accommodations are requested. Especially during busy times, this may lead to a very uncomfortable experience for those who have pet allergies, very small children, or who dislike or are fearful of dogs.

Parking is an issue at this property. $20/nt is rather steep to me. The staff is not bad in any way, but I think it would be nice if they went above and beyond to offer information about what is going on in the area, restaurants, pool passes, greet you when you return, etc.
