"The Rutland arms is very quirky. One thing I would’ve liked to have seen was the fact that our room was not in the main hotel and in the Annex across the road. At the time we arrived there was no parking so you either risk parking on the roads nearby and having to move before breakfast the next day or paying £12-£14 for the main car park. "We had an excellent stay at the Grade 2 listed Britannia Palace! While the room is certainly compact it was clean throughout and suited our needs just fine for an overnight stay. Suzanne on reception was super friendly and helpful and talked me through how to register my car - car parking was free for 24 hours from when we arrived. The swimming pool and steam room were also a welcome addition for what was a very affordable price! "

"We parked on sight, stayed for one night then left the car for 3 nights whilst on a mini break. Shuttle buses to the airport are frequent. We ate in the restaurant which was very nice, great service and great food. We didn’t add parking or shuttle bus on the booking (Couldn’t see the option when I booked) this was payable at the hotel "

Great airport hotel with Exceptional staff

"From initial check-in to checking out I would have to say this 3-night stay has been memorably great. Located just 2 miles from the airport, and okay it's a little restricted on public transport options, but otherwise this hotel is perfect for an 'airport hotel' being it's main purpose. My room #346 was comfortable & clean, and fairly quiet overlooking the rear of the building. Facilities within the room were good, with usual the tea & coffee, TV, strong & dimmer lighting plus a fan & ironing equip. Bathroom was super clean, spacious and had an impressive shower. The included breakfast was very good, tasty and included all the choices you'd expect. Now, the staff: I have to mention this is probably the best group of hotel staff I have ever had the pleasure of encountering. Quite honestly, they were ALL that good, extremely pleasant & efficient. Whether staying here prior to flying out on holiday, for business or a leisurely stay(like mine), it's the perfect start & lasting impression. I must mention a few who were just simply exceptional though. Holly who checked me in and has the most amazing manner & smile. I had a couple of further encounters with her remarkable ways during my stay. Others who stood out were Steven, Fi Fi, Andrea, Lyndsey & housekeeper Maria. Nothing seemed too much trouble for any of them, and you could feel their sincerity. This is my very first experience of staying at a Holiday Inn(Express or otherwise), but will certainly not be my last.👏"
