Breakfast is pretty good and diverse. The location is perfect with both the train station and city center a few meters away. We found the room a bit smelly and, therefore, it needed frequent aeration, probably because the carpet floor would require thorough cleaning. The bottle of water in the room at the arrival as well as the towels for the sauna are for pay, which makes you feel a little bit less welcome, especially in a hotel of this category and price range.

The room wasn’t in a good condition and it didn’t live up to the expectations of a four star hotel. It really needs a renovation. But for one night in lovely Goslar it somehow worked. We could sleep and get rested for the next part of our trip.

Speciel good hotel

Breakfast will never satisfy everyone. I want crispy breakfast bread. it wasn't there. The coffee was super duper. No open restaurant for lunch. Dinner only. The staff is really top notch. Only 4 stars because the hotel charger for my Nissan Ariya didn't work. But all in all, definitely worthy of a recommendation. greetings, Kjeld Freundlich

After a long and boring « paperless check in- we got finally our room. None of our requirements in terms of bed and vieuw were matched. Room was noisy, in front of hotel a railway track noisy people crying and made any kind of noise toll 2:00 am. No airco, room was hot as hell. old fashioned jnterior in poor condition, no cocfe machine, empty mini bar and awfull bedding. Scratched furniture,dirty carpets and ridiculius small bathroom. shouwer was not drainig off, with jus a CURTAIN….! No idea at all why this hotel has 4 stars! Totally overprized, on top, the charged us 18,-€ more than an anounced on the website. N EVER EVER AGAIN!!!

After 950 km. drive. we arrived a little before 9pm and checked in with a very kind and helpful receptionist. Had seen on the homepage that the restaurent should be open to 10pm. We went to the restaurent at 9pm - at the same time when two meals were carried from the kitchen in to some guests. But: We were rejected a table (even there were many empty tables) by a quite negative and unfriendly waiter, because we had not made a reservation. If we had not made a reservation, we were told, we could not expect that the kitchen had procured enough raw materials for feeding us. Even we asked for what disches they had materials to cook - and offered to just order that, we were still refused. We ended up walking through the city to maybe 5 restaurents with "closed klitchen" before we found one who served some very good ribs, at a small place called "Rib Publik", Shilderstrasse 57. But, this is simply not good enough at a relatively expensive hotel like Hotel Der Achtermann.

Das Hotel ist ein wenig in die Jahre gekommen. Man sollte es hier und da renovieren. Der Wellnessbereich hat viel zu bieten, jedoch fehlt den Räumlichkeiten das entsprechende Ambiente/Ausstattung für ein entspanntes Wohlbefinden.
