"We stayed in the island lodge. The lodge itself is very nice, only downpoint of the actual lodge is lack of storage space in the kitchen. My biggest complaints about this place were 1. When making the booking it NEVER mentioned that the only way to access your lodge is via a small rowing boat. I kid you not. "We stayed here for eight days in October with two couples, both 60+. Everything about the villa was as advertised and more. Especially the living and dining rooms are large and comfortable, the grounds are beautifully maintained, the beds very comfortable, all the amenities excellent, and the hosts were always available and kind and helpful. Montfoort is centrally located and it was wonderful after a busy day of sightseeing to come “home” and not have to unpack but just relax. Highly recommended...

"The place is lovely, but beware of Belvilla. I meant to book through Vrbo but had trouble with my American credit card so went through Belvilla instead. Huge mistake. I ended up accidentally booking multiple units, which were cancelled except for 2. Despite repeated attempts with multiple representatives they would not cancel the other one so I ended up with 2. They tried telling me they could not get in touch with the holiday park. I called the holiday park and they said THEY could not cancel...

"We had a really relaxing time here. The cottage is small but that suited us, and the view across the fields filled with all kind of wildlife was superb (not forgetting the chickens next to us and the three walking ducks!). And the huge windmill next to the canal is something to behold. "While checking in close to midnight I was told my booking was cancelled. Only because I insisted for 10 minutes, I received a room. The room was very large, nice and comfortable bed. clean shower. Breakfast was okay, fresh and yet very standard. Hotel is 5 minutes' walk from the train station which was very convenient to me. The wellness area is nice and clean, swimming pool is very small (not for swimming...)"
