"The cava is exactly as shown and described online. The view from the terrace looks directly into the Sassi. The location can’t be beat, it’s right near the old city and new City so you have a central location to see everything. The beds were comfortable and the air conditioner works great on a hot day. Our hosts were amazing. They provided us a lovely breakfast of fresh tarts, pastries, meats, yogurts, and milk/cereals. They even left us local wine to enjoy at home and suggested several tours....

"The staff was fabulous; both helpful and kind. We were unaware that caves are humid, which was our naivete. Breakfast was ample. Our cave was large and had lots of places to sit comfortably, inside and out. The only reason the stay was not 100% excellent was the humidity inside the cave despite running dehumidifiers and air conditioning. Having a sweet dog on premises was a bonus!"

"The location of the apartment is perfect and easy to walk to all the key sites and shopping. The gentleman that checked us in was very sweet and worked Google Translate liked a pro. Great, basic accomodations."

"Matera was our first stop on our Italy Trip. This property is spacious, well located in the center with spectacular views across the old town. Parking is near by, we paid 25 euros for each 24 hours, so 50 euros total, which was easy walk with case and no steps, which was ideal for us. Restaurant right next door done a fantastic breakfast and lunch salad which was reasonably priced. There are lots of places to eat around Matera so eating out was not a problem. "The property is in a great location within walking distance to everything in the Sassi. The bed is very comfortable and how cool to shower in a cave! The kitchen is well equipped and stocked with some breakfast items. The host also had a bottle of wine for us to enjoy. I would definitely recommend this rental. "

"What a fantastic hotel right in the centre of matera. The rooms were wonderful and the staff very helpful. A word to drivers getting tit he hotel can be a little stressful as the roads are very narrow and confusing. The restricted zone signage is the worst but ignore it as the hotel sorts the issue out with local police. "

"This was a "blow the budget" trip for me and I was not disappointed. The hotel is built into caves and has fantastic views of the city and over the ford (you can walk over). My room (a cave in itself) was huge, a large jacuzzi in the centre (would likely accommodate 4 people) and a modern wet room at rear, decor and lighting was perfect. The restaurant was also built into cave, was beautiful. Staff eager to assist and pleasant to chat to. Overall, fantastic - 1 minor criticism, the water in jacuzzi was not warm, no doubt refreshing in the sweltering summer but uninviting in a cooler October! Did mention to staff and it was being inspected when I left. Formidable place, thank you. "

"One of our favorite cities and hotels on our Italian vacation. The cave room is beautiful, clean and quiet with modern details. The shower is awesome and heated towel bars were a plus. Breakfast is very nice and they have a bar that opens in the evenings at 5. All is very convenient to walking the sasso. They will arrange for a cab upon arrival or departure if you're taking a bus or train, so reach out as the walk from the main city piazza is far with luggage. Great restaurants nearby."

"We didn’t get the bottle of wine and we forgot to ask for it. However, the hotel, the room and location was stunning. Specially the people who work at the hotel, they were wonderful! All of them were kind and friendly. We even met the owner whom was very kind and attentive to all our needs. I’d come back for next time. Kudos to Giuseppe for his time and recommendations!"
