The hosts had thought of everything that may be needed and there was excellent communication in the run up to and during the stay. The house was in a lovely location, close to a pretty park and walkable distance to the centre on a really pretty and quiet street. "

"This house is delightful and has a cared-for garden that is a pleasure to sit in when it’s not raining. The house was bang in the middle of Winchester and great for access to the Harestock side of the town. Parking would have been a nightmare without the Ringo app (foreigners beware), because there is essentially no on street parking and you have to pay a small overnight fee for the large garage a few meters away. Close to station so if you are doing a weekend and don’t need to leave town this would be perfect. House was well equipped, but the bathroom was a nightmare. Why not remove the bath and have a nice big shower? 2 inadequate showers in one room and a minuscule unventilated toilet in a cupboard under the stairs really let the place down. Hosts were great and flexible and overall this was the nicest place we have stayed in Winchester (4th time using VRBO)."

"This was the perfect place for our family of four to stay on our trip to Winchester! Located just a block from the train station and an easy 5 minute walk into the heart of the town. The place was very clean and had a lovely porch to sit out on and enjoy in the evenings. Claire was helpful and gracious throughout our stay. I would definitely recommend staying here when you head to this beautiful cathedral town."

"The property clearly is not overseen by caring owners. We had several conversations and texts with "Claire" and "Katrina," none of which immediately served our needs or concerns. Following is a list of complaints: 1.) No information about final check-in was sent to us 1 - 2 days prior as promised. 2.) Our calls and texts were not returned in a responsive or prompt manner. 3.) NO INFORMATION was left in the flat with instructions for turning on the TV, the washer-dryer, or the gas stove top. (In fact, the ignition for the stove did not work at all, and we had to request the owner' help. She eventually provided a lighter to ignite the burners.) 4.) The TV was not functional the entire time we were there (6 days). Batteries in the remote were out. Owner came same day as gas stove lighter was supplied and claimed the TV was good to go. NOT SO! We never were able to get it to work. 5.) Photos of the property were a bit deceiving as the smaller bedroom was so small that it took careful footwork to get around the bed. All in all, a very disappointing stay. We love the town of Winchester, and I have stayed there on extended visits over many years, but this rental was terribly disappointing. I would not recommend the property, mainly because of the lack of information provided and a very haphazard and lackadaisical attitude on the part of the "owners.""
