Welcome to America's tallest indoor water park, whose biggest slide soars a massive 10 stories into the sky! Every adrenaline level is catered for with wave pools, tube rides, kiddies play areas and even pools for surfing.
Looking for a thrill? Grab a board and test out your surfing skills on the Flowrider or climb up to the top levels and bodyboard down. A slightly less adventurous ride is the wave pool, which accommodates adults and children alike. Lifejackets are provided for younger kids so they can go on the bigger slides accompanied by an adult. If you're feeling brave, head up to the Eagle's Nest Family Raft Ride where you plummet down 10 stories and travel through tubing at speed for over a mile – certainly not for the faint hearted!
Too much? Why not head over to the Lazy River with your tube and float along, passing waterfalls and wave pools as you go. Lots of the rides in the water park involve tubes so make sure to hold onto yours.
Kids are catered for with the Zero-Depth Activity pool. Lots of slides, climbing ropes and basketball games keep them entertained for hours.
Take a break from the water and head over to the Camp Many Point where you can grab some pizza, salad or sandwiches. There is also a range of alcoholic drinks on offer here. It's worth noting that you can't bring food in with you. Make sure to check out the fun games in the arcade before you jump back into the water.
Water Park of America is situated near the Mall of America in Bloomington, beside the international airport. Opening times of the complex vary so make sure to check the website for current details. Ticket prices also vary depending on the day and time you visit, however if you're not getting wet and just want to observe, you can avail of a reduced entry price. The price includes towels, life jackets and tubes but feel free to bring your own as well. Bring cash with you so you can rent a locker to store your belongings safely. Lastly, arrive early to avoid the often-massive queues.
