"Family break for a week - five adults and a four years old child. The accomodation is really well set up - en-suite bathrooms in all bedrooms, a good kitchen and secure garden. Hostess was there to greet us. Being August, the town was really quiet, so I would say a car is essential. Supermarkets available around 4km away. I would thoroughly recommend the property."

"Very quirky little place in lovely countryside. Was perfect for a small stay. Not masses to do in the area but perfect for a relaxing time in rural surroundings. Lovely boulangerie in Brumhel, but had to search it out!"

"We have just spent a lovely two weeks here, the Gite was just what we were looking for and the weather was fine also. The owners were extremely welcoming and so kind, you couldn’t wish for more. I would say that the photos on the site were probably from a few years ago, but everything was as it said. There are things to do and find, even a little trip to Belgium to ride the Crocodile bus / boat. Also note the bed downstairs is extremely comfortable and the house was very clean. Yes it is...

"We had a very pleasant stay in Blandine’s well appointed gite. She welcomed us warmly, with a guided tour, information pack relating to accommodation, maps and guides for local walks and points of interest. She was nearby in case of queries, too. Guise is a small town, and can be reached on foot, for supermarket, bakery, cafes etc. There are many lovely walks nearby and wide country views."

"My family and I spent a wonderful couple of days staying at this delightful property and were looked after brilliantly by Sandrine and her husband. Beautiful, comfortable and clean, everything was catered for and thoughtfully designed. Extra finishing touches and provisions were added providing that extra special experience. Thank you. Loved it! "The chalet was clean, although small, there was sufficient space for our motorcycle gear and space outside to leave luggage. The area around the lake is good for walking and due to it being end of season, very quiet throughout the day and night. The breakfast service was poor and does not represent good value. The first day there were no bowls for creals and no clean tea mugs. On the second day we were the only two diners. The cleaners were in the room drinking coffee when we arrived so there was not enough coffee left. I asked for more, they gave us a flask, locked the service room and left. They hadn't made more coffee but simply topped up the flask with water so the last bit we had was undrinkable. We then realised they had locked away the breads and croissants, leaving us nothing to eat. I told the office about this and as we had only eaten half a breakfast I asked for a refund of one but this was refused. We had a long ride that day and wanted a good start to the day, not to pay for the cleaners' breakfast. Overall the stay was good and I recommend it to others but advise against having the breakfast. "

"A beautiful property in a quiet location. Bags of facilities, with charming and thoughtful service. Excellent food and a copious breakfast, with delicious organic fruit, cheese, meat and drink from the farm and other local producers. Ideal as a stop over travelling to or from the UK, or as a romatic getaway in the country."

Gorgeous rural stay

"We only stayed for one night at this gorgeous hotel. It’s a stunning building which has obviously had a lot of money, time and effort put into it. The surrounding area is quiet and rural. Our room was compact but beautifully decorated in a traditional french style. We ate in the hotel on the evening, the service and food were lovely. Unfortunately due to an early start we were unable to have breakfast. "

"A very convenient place to stay on the way back to the Channel Tunnel. The rooms are comfortable with an ingenious bathroom “pod” similar to what you may find in Ferry cabin or Campervan. On street parking, in BLUE parking bays (Parking Bleu) from 18:00 is free until 09:00 and between 12:30 & 14:00. One and a half hours free parking is also allowed if you purchase a “Parking Disque” from the Bookshop close by. Secure Parking IS an available on request but I understand there are very few spaces, I think 3(?). Breakfast has a nice selection including boil it yourself eggs! The number 4 bus will take you from the station to the City on the hill or it is approximately 5 minutes by car. The Cathedral and Medieval streets are interesting with a LOT of history and there are nice places to eat, including the hotel opposite the Cathedral."
