Casa Oleandra is a bright, spacious and superbly comfortable Italian country house with delightful views of the Sibillini Mountains, the pretty village of Gualdo, (di Macerata) and the surrounding rolling hills of Le Marche.

Whether it be having fun in our beautiful 12m x 6m Private Salt Water Swimming Pool with a diving board, sipping prosecco on the roof terrace, alfresco dining on the patio by the pool or portico, relaxing under the shade of the large portico on the comfortable seating, Casa Oleandra is the perfect place for your holiday. Our villa provides excellent privacy both inside and out.

Set at the end of a local white gravel road, this is the perfect place for you, your family and friends to truly relax and enjoy your holiday in the magical real Italy of Le Marche.

Internally the villa has a combination of modern and traditional with exposed stone and brick walls on the ground floor and high end modern finishes to the 4 bathrooms including a Sunken Bath and Unique Step-Down Shower.

Outside you are welcome to enjoy the abundance of fruit from our garden including apples, figs, apricots and grapes.

Casa Oleandra is situated just 2.5 kms from the medieval hilltop village of Gualdo, with its spectacular views of the area, a small weekly market and shops for your everyday needs. In the village you will also find 2 cafe/ bars and a restaurant, we would recommend visiting Scarlet's Bar for your morning coffee and many summer evening events.

Casa Oleandra is set in the Golden Triangle of Le Marche where just a short drive away you will also find the lovely towns of Sarnano, San Ginesio, Sant'Angelo in Pontano, Penna San Giovanni, Smerillo and Monte San Martino all with their own distinct charm, weekly markets, festivals, concerts and fabulous restaurants. Mountain lake swimming at Lago Fiastra, winter skiing at Bolongnola can be enjoyed just 40 minutes away, whilst the beaches at Porto San Giorgio and Conero are an hour away. For more shopping try the beautiful cities of Macerata, San Benedetto del Tronto or Ascoli Piceno, alternatively you could visit one of the many outlet shopping areas in the area.

Internal

The central entrance hall leads into a modern open plan kitchen/ dining/ living room with comfortable seating surrounding a wood burning stove for the colder winter evenings, dining table seating 8 people and a modern well equipped kitchen with range oven and breakfast bar. The hallway also leads to the ground floor family bathroom with a sunken bath, to the separate TV room with comfortable sofa's and to the Ground Floor Bedroom with Kingsize Bed. The bedroom boasts access to a private terrace area and en-suite with a unique step down shower. Upstairs the Master bedroom has a modern Kingsize Four Poster bed from where you can lie and enjoy the views of Gualdo or alternatively enjoy breakfast on the roof terrace, whilst the en-suite has a walk in shower and double basins. On this floor there are a further two large bedrooms, a spacious twin bedroom and another bedroom with Kingsize bed and ample wardrobe space. The family bathroom has a walk in shower. All linens are included with soft towels, 100% cotton sheets, quilts, bathrobes and a choice of pillows .

There is underfloor heating to the ground floor and radiators upstairs for the colder months of the year. The upstairs bedrooms are also fitted with ceiling fans and bug screens to some windows throughout the house and wooden shutters.

Private Pool

The excellent 12m x 6m salt water pool is accessed down steps from the house and is surrounded by paving with sunbeds for 8 people, umbrella, spectacular views and naturally shaded areas. The pool has roman steps, ladder, diving board and a varying depth from 1.3 m to 2.7m. At the side of the pool is a shower and a large alfresco dining area with seating for 8 people ideal for enjoying watching the sunset. The pool is open from beginning of May to end of September.

Garden

The garden provides room to relax in the shade, lie in the hammock and watch the stars, play ball games or challenge your friends to a game of table tennis. Help yourself to the fruit from our trees, enjoy cooking a barbecue or just sit and relax on the comfortable sofa on the portico and take in the views.

Probably the best Italian villa we have stayed in!
Our first views of the villa highlighted it's most amazing location. Conveniently close to the nearby Gualdo,with good road access, and yet located in the middle of the countryside with amazing views in all directions. We loved watching the sheep on the nearby hills, accompanied closely by a large flock of white egrets, the many jays and other birds passing across the property, and on one occasion the three eagles soaring above. The villa itself was very well maintained, comfortable and spacious. The covered outdoor space enabled almost all of our meals to be taken outside and also provided a comfortable seating area. The pool was excellent, a good size and depth, and we really liked the adjacent shower with almost instant hot water. Despite the above we did go out to enjoy the scenery and visit many local towns and villages as well as enjoying the restaurants. Gail was very helpful at all times, and particularly in solving a couple of minor issues with power and wifi/TV. In all a very enjoyable holiday.

Place to love, excellent house in a beautifull location
We stayed here for a week during the summer holidays. The house is great, large and spacious with plenty of space inside and out. The swimming pool is what you expect, large, well-maintained and plenty of space for sunbathing or relaxing in the shade. Entertainment with the ping pong table, badminton, or lying in the hammock, everything is provided. The outdoor seating area with dining table and comfortable lounge set completes it. Downside is the internet. The connection is not too fast, and the WiFi access point is not very powerful, so it can only be used in a stable manner indoors in the living room / TV room. (particularly difficult because 3G / 4G / 5G is also mediocre due to the rural area). Could use an upgrade to 2024

Casa Oleandra is like heaven on earth
The villa is situated in a beautiful spot. The views are superb. The house is very well equiped with a fantatsic pool, a comfortable hammock and a ping pong table. There a multiple possibilities for walks and visits to neighbouring villages.

A little paradise
It really is a little paradise that Gail has created here. We enjoyed our 14 days very much, even though the weather gods were not really kind to us this year. But weather is weather and we were still able to use the very nice and large pool from time to time. Fantastic house - stunning location
We had a wonderful couple of weeks at Casa Oleandra. The house is beautiful , extremely comfortable and well equipped. We made great use of the swimming pool and table tennis table too! The views make this a very special place. It’s very rural and secluded which we loved. Gualdo is easy and quick to get to from the house by car and it has all the basics that we needed- including a great butcher who was so patient with our virtually non existent Italian (though we left with far more language than we came with!) Sarnano and Fermo are beautiful too. Huge thanks to Gail who was so accommodating and helpful .. we would love to return! This is an idyllic spot!

Wonderful holiday in a beautiful house and area
We all loved our holiday at Casa Oleandra. And our first visit to Le Marche. The house, garden, pool, views and area are stunning. The house is even lovelier than the pictures and very well equipped - we are missing watching the sheep from the roof terrace every morning and the bathrooms were fabulous! We all enjoyed the pool and table tennis and tore ourselves away to visit Sarnano plus Lago di Fiastra and Bolognola up in the Sibillini mountains which we’d recommend. Gail was so helpful and contactable and gave us so many useful tips - we agree the butcher, the bars and restaurant in Gualdo are great! Thank you and we can’t wait to go back!

Absolutely Stunning!
A wonderful house in a superb location. We've stayed in several properties in La Marche in recent years , but this is definitely the best of the best and ticked all our our boxes of secluded location, large pool, well appointed kitchen (including sharp knives!) and plenty of space for all the family. From the start of the booking process to our return home (yesterday) Gail couldn't have been more helpful. On the few occasions that we manged to drag ourselves away from the house there is plenty to do and see if wanted, and the nearby Gualdo and Sarnano are a must. An absolutely stunning location with lots of wildlife (Eagles & wild Boar etc) and the perfect place to unwind. We will certainly be back as soon as we are able!

Great experience
Gail our hostess and people/employees were the greatest! We had a wonderful stay. The house is between the land of the farmers who sometimes can start early with the truck in the land. Make sure to put your flatables for the pool at night inside as we had a visit of a young playfull fox. The pool is great, the kids enjoyed a lot! Also the cleaning of the house and pool during our 2 week stay was great! We surely recommend this house. If I had to say 1 thing that was negative would be for us not having airconditioning in the bedrooms. We were in a very hot period! But we had a great stay and can recommend this house to everybody!

Peaceful getaway
We had a lovely week at Casa Oleandra. The communication with the owner before, during and after our visit made us feel safe and comfortable and everything went smoothly. Lucia met us at Scarlet's Bar and gave us a house tour. After that we pretty much got by on our own. The house was spacious and pretty and we found everything we needed and more. The pool area was adorable and offered many peaceful moments accompanied by the bells of the cows and sheep nearby. The pool itself was perfect for our group of 4 adults and 4 kids (10-14 years old). The neighbours were very welcoming. We made some trips to Gualdo and Sarnano, visited the waterfalls, took a swim in the manmade lake with the adventure course less than an hour away and drove to the coast one day. Amazing views but be prepared for serpentine roads everywhere you go :). I would sincerely recommend anyone a visit to this lovely place. Many thanks to Gail and Lucia!

A beautifully restored Italian farmhouse in an idyllic setting.
We wanted a luxurious, character house in Le Marche region, which we love, with a pool and peace and quiet for ourselves and two teenagers, all more than for-filled by Casa Oleandra. The house is set in a beautiful location with spectacular views in all directions, you can relax in the large pool and soak up the sun taking in the views. The house interior is beautifully finished, done recently and very comfortable, we cooked a lot in the evenings and found the kitchen well equipped and easy to use with a BBQ just a few meters away from the outdoor covered terrace. The dining area beside the pool was a delight for either light lunch or dinner in the evenings. Bedrooms and on-suite facilities were faultless and the roof terrace was great for a G&T in the evening and watching the local wildlife. Although you are located down the valley from the local hilltop village, it is a short drive to do local shopping and visit the very good restaurant and bar in the village, drives to the beach are an hour away and the same to the Sibillini Mountains in the other direction. Gail and Neil, the owners, were incredible helpful before the trip and Gail kept in contact when we had a typically Italian thunderstorm one evening which knocked out the power in the region for a couple of hours, house supplied touches and candles were utilised but the Italian power workers had us up and running very quickly....I know, I was surprised. Gail & Neil's house keepers were the finishing touch, local family who greeted us in local shops and restaurants and were incredibly friendly and helpful but not intrusive, keeping the house clean and well kept. I am loath to post this as the house and location are in our top three vacation properties ever experienced and we will want to undoubtedly return but I suspect we may have difficulty booking next time as the word will be out!

Family holiday at the perfect place!
From the moment we arrived at Casa Oleandra (after the very kind and spontaneous help from some locals at the gas station), we immediately fell in love with the house and the scenery: the beautiful (!!) mountains on the left, the vast landscape (with sheep) on the right. The contact beforehand with the owners was accurate and very friendly (always clear and fast information). The house itself was perfectly clean and had everything we could wish for. 4 (renewed) bathrooms for 4 bedrooms made it ourselves very comfortable. We all slept very well in the large beds (my husband is about 2 metres tall), and every bedroom was decorated very unique and authentic. Not insignificant: all windows had mosquito netting and ventilation. If we’re really have to be crititcal, than the only thing the kitchen missed, was a micro wave. And as we like to eat outside, the large table at the swimming pool would have been more usefull/practicable if standing under the terrace roof, near the kitchen. The kids (all between 5 and 8) discovered the well mentained swimming pool and would have stayed in for like two weeks, if we didn’t force them to come out now and then Even from the terrace just up ahead, we could watch them playing in the water. The springboard was an added value and the recliners gave us the perfect opportunity to read a book (or to dream away while watching the marvelous natural beauty of the surrounding area). The location of the casa was perfectly for visiting beautiful spots (we tried not to drive more than 1 hour): Sarnano, Ascoli Piceno, San Gineseo, … all worth it, although in all honesty I must say we were taken aback by the most recent earthquakes ‘aftermath’. We also spend a very nice day at the beach site. After 14 days, we were totally relaxed and we felt perfectly accepted by the very kind locals (of the restaurants, bars, …)! If you are looking for a place to relax in an amazing place, this is the place to be. We definitely will come back to this little italien paradise.

A Perfect Stay at a Gorgeous Rural Villa
We absolutely loved our stay in this beautiful villa situated in a stunning rural spot. The pool was perfect, with a lovely temperature that was just right. The weather in July was exactly what we expected—perfect. It was a bit hot at times, but the wonderful pool in the beautiful flowery garden was a refreshing escape, offering a breathtaking view of the hilly landscape and the enchanting scent of lavender. It might sound unreal, but it's the truth. The rest of the villa was equally impressive. The fully equipped kitchen made meal preparations a breeze, and the bedrooms and bathrooms were comfortable and well-maintained. True, the villa is located in the middle of nowhere, but if you're looking for a secluded getaway and don't mind driving a bit for shopping or fun activities, this is the ideal place for you. Additionally, our contact with the owner was excellent. The communication was seamless and prompt. Gail was always quick to respond to our inquiries, making our stay even more enjoyable. We couldn’t have asked for a better experience.

Tolle grosszügige Unterkunft
Wir hatten eine tolle Zeit in Gualdo und das Haus ist sehr grosszügig und gut ausgestattet. Einzig wünschenswertes wäre eine etwas gemütlichere Sitzgelegenheit (Tische und Stühle) im Freien unter der Terrasse, damit man auch längers gemütlich sitzen könnte am Abend und eine Beschattung, damit man auch draussen Frühstücken könnte. Sowie etwas mehr Schatten im Pool Liegebereich evtl. mit Sonnenschirmen wäre toll gewesen. Die Rückmeldungen und Hilfen von Gail kamen immer sehr prompt und hilfsbereit. Wir können das Haus für grosse Familien oder zwei Familien empfehlen.

Fantastische vakantiewoning in authentiek Italië.
Een ontzettend mooie vakantiewoning met een waanzinnig mooi uitzicht op Gualdo. Het zwembad is zeer groot met zelfs een kleine duikplank. De woning is ook helemaal compleet ingericht en bevat alles wat je nodig hebt. Gail betrekt je goed bij de voorbereidingen en voorziet je regelmatig van informatie en updates. Je moet wel bereid zijn om even in de auto te zitten voor bezienswaardigheden (1 uur). In de omgeving zijn voldoende goede restaurants.

Toller Swimmingpool
Die Casa Oleandra liegt ruhig am Ende eines nicht asphaltierten und teilweise recht steilen Wegs (ein Auto mit Allradantrieb ist definitiv ein Pluspunkt, aber es geht auch ohne) und bietet schöne Ausblicke in die Umgebung. Das Highlight ist sicherlich der große und gut gepflegte Swimmingpool. Gail ist eine äußerst zuvorkommende und hilfsbereite Gastgeberin, die sich immer sofort gekümmert hat, sofern es ein Problem gab, und auch sonst stets um das Wohl ihrer Gäste bemüht war.

Wunderbarer Platz zum erholen
Ein wunderbares Anwesen, liebevoll renoviert, eingerichtet und sehr gepflegt, traumhafte Bäder, sehr grosse, voll ausgestattete Küche und ein phantastischer Pool. Geräumiges, schön und gut ausgestattetes Haus mit tollem Pool in ruhiger Umgebung
Wir schliessen uns den lobenden Bewertungen ohne Einschränkungen an. Wir (8 Erwachsene) haben unseren Urlaub in den Marche - nicht unser erster und hoffentlich auch nicht der letzte - in diesem sehr schönen und gut ausgestatteten Haus mit tollem Pool sehr genossen. Wir können das Haus allen empfehlen, die Ruhe suchen. An den Strand ist es ziemlich weit. Uns hat dies nicht gestört, weil wir darauf dank des Pools gut verzichten konnten, dies wussten. Dafür ist man nah an den Monti Sibillini, die nicht nur eine hübsche Foto- Kulisse bieten. Es gibt ums Haus genügend Spielfläche für Boccia, Kubb, einen Tischtennis Tisch. Die Woche war leider sehr schnell rum.

Superbe maison
Maison très confortable avec une superbe piscine dans un coin très tranquille des Marches. Propriétaire très réactive et sympathique. Beaucoup de beaux villages à visiter à moins d’une heure en voiture. Ne pas manquer Ascoli Piceno.
