Da un 4 stelle ci si aspetta di più!

Il castello è davvero suggestivo ma tutti i clienti vengono ospitati in una depandance. Anch'essa niente male come ambientazione, ma la camera era scadente. Sicuramente da rinnovare. Specie il bagno. Il ristorante interno, previsto dal sito e dall'offerta, è chiuso da anni.

Autentisk middelalderligt hotel

Hvis man er til autensitet, ridderborge, mørke rum og edderkoppespind er dette sted berigende. Morgenmaden var rigtig fin og den rette ridderstemning er der som dengang i middelalderen. Men omgivelserne og værelset var ikke til 4 stjerner

La chambre était propre et le personnel aimable. Idéal pour les petits budgets. Sinon il ne faut pas être regardant l'hôtel semble à l'abandon, la piscine est hors service.

Pros and Cons

We're a retired couple who stayed a week in early/mid Sept on a bed and breakfast basis, staying in the Annex. We'd hired a car and found there was plenty of parking space (some of it rather rough and ready) including an area next to the Annex. The hotel is peaceful and characterful - an old country Palazzo in a small park, furnished in period style - but close to both the "old road" to Gubbio and the faster SS219. It's convenient for frequent visits to the splendid mediaeval city of Gubbio (7km away) and for day tours through the beautiful areas of northern and central Umbria, the Apennine mountains, Urbino and eastern Tuscany, all of immense historic and artistic interesaat. The hotel is really only useful for those with cars. The staff were unfailingly courteous, friendly and helpful. Our room was spacious, with a safe and a minibar, and the cleanliness and the ensuite were fine. Breakfast was an ample buffet. However, the place seemed curiously under-powered. Exterior signs are poor and the website (in Italian only) is inadequate and sometimes misleading (eg there's no formal laundry service). Nobody seemed to be staying in the main Palazzo, which appeared half closed. Half the terrace seating was upended, with leaves piling up on the tables, and in the hottest Italian September for 100 years the swimming pool was unusable because of inadequate cleaning. No evening meals or lunches were being served at all, we noticed.

Si poteva far meglio con poco

L'albergo dispone di 2 strutture. Quella principale che ho utilizzato solo per la reception e la colazione, e la "depandance" dove abbiamo alloggiato. Questa seconda struttura è meno scenografica e un pò più "strettina". Il personale è gentile e disponibile ma deve affrontare le piccole miopie della proprietà: luci fioche al bagno, colazione internazionale da caserma, personale delle pulizie ridotto. Potrebbero fare di più con poco...ed è un peccato perchè la struttura merita.

Caratteristico piccolo castello in pietra

Per chi viaggia in auto, la posizione è strategica a 10 minuti da Gubbio e a pochi minuti dalla superstrada che collega tutte le principali località umbre, non è decisamente agevole per chi viaggia con altri mezzi. La struttura è caratteristica, un piccolo castello immerso nel verde. Se vi aspettate ascensori di cristallo, tecnologia, mega TV, spa questo hotel non fa per voi. La maggior parte della camere non sono situate nel corpo principale ma in una residenza in pietra attigua. Gli arredi tipicamente medievali sono pieni di charme. La nostra camera era molto ampia e silenziosa, elegantemente arredata. La doccia del bagno andrebbe rivista, comunque nel complesso comodo e con finestra. Il personale è cortese e molto premuroso. La colazione è buona, un pochino ripetitiva. Ci si può rilassare sulle poltroncine poste sotto i vari gazebi o in piscina che circondata dal parco, è pulita, comoda e silenziosa.

Wonderful location

We went here to visit the neighborhood, Gubbio Perugia Spoleto and other little cities, and we had such a good time. The staff is very kind and friendly, the location is stunning, a castle built in 1064, very peculiar, The pool is comfortable and due to the few rooms (less than 20) quite and relax are assured. Highly recommended.

Magnifica struttura costruita nel 1090.

Si nota che nel passato è stato un albergo di lusso. Oggi è tutto un po' decadente. Ottimo è disponibile il personale. Buona la colazione è ben assortita ed anche sulla pulizia, niente da eccepire.

Relax e fascino a 10 minuti da Gubbio

Il soggiorno presso l’hotel Torre dei Calzolari è davvero piacevole. La posizione è ottima: a 10 minuti da Gubbio, a 5 minuti dalla superstrada, quindi agevole per ogni spostamento verso i paesi umbri. La struttura è davvero molto particolare, trattandosi di un castello che mantiene praticamente intatto il proprio fascino. Le camere sono silenziosissime, e l’hotel dispone di un bel parco privato dove poter stare in tutto relax immersi nel verde. Le camere, situate in una depandance attigua, sono pulite e confortevoli (i bagni hanno un aspetto un pò spartano, forse meriterebbero un restyling, pur essendo perfettamente funzionali). Il personale è professionale e gentilissimo. La colazione è buona. Lo consigliamo davvero a tutti sia per un soggiorno di relax a Gubbio (a 10 minuti) sia come base per una vacanza culturale in Umbria (30 minuti da Perugia e Assisi).

Tutto perfetto!

Siamo stati per 5 notti in questo bellissimo hotel, con le stanze realizzate in parte nel corpo centrale ed in parte in una splendida dependance con arredi e atmosfera d'epoca. La struttura è incantevole, ben tenuta e gestita in modo impeccabile da un giovane staff molto intraprendente. Gli ambienti comuni sono affascinanti, e riproducono con autenticità il periodo storico dell'antica dimora, consentendo agli ospiti di immergersi nel più completo relax. Il giardino, ampio e curato, è mantenuto in ordine ed invoglia a qualche passeggiata anche serale, data l'ottima e calda illuminazione esterna. La camera è arredata con mobili in legno massello di pregiata fattura, un materasso assolutamente confortevole e tutte le dotazioni di base che ci si aspetta per la categoria. La colazione è di buona qualità, e le bevande calde vengono preparate dal personale al momento della richiesta con macchina da bar, tuttavia l'assortimento è ridotto all'essenziale, e potrebbe deludere chi è abituato alle colazioni faraoniche che vengono proposte ormai da moltissimi alberghi comparabili. In definitiva, un ottimo indirizzo per un soggiorno di relax e di buon confort. Lo consiglio senz'altro!

castello in decadenza

hotel a 4 stelle cadute! forse le 4 stelle valevano 30 anni fa.....ora si presenta triste, sporco, freddo, decadente....darei al massimo 2 stelle ....non hanno nemmeno il bancomat! la colazione fa pena, il luogo è poco riscaldato, si muore di freddo, nel letto nemmeno le coperte, solo il lenzuolo e il copriletto.....bagno rappezzato e sporco, tappetini della camera mai puliti, polvere di 2 cm su ogni mobile della stanza, sconsiglio fortemente

Carino e affascinante

Direi una buona esperienza. Unico neo il riscaldamento non perfettamente funzionante ma abbiamo visto che hanno già installato la predisposizione per il nuovo sistema e pertanto riteniamo che in futuro non ci siano i problemi che abbiamo riscontrato
