Les Roses is one of five gîtes on the Les Patis estate that spans eight acres of private gardens. It is a large and spacious three bedroom stone gîte that has views over the garden and the swimming pool. On the top floor there are three bedrooms and a shower room. The master bedroom has a king bed with en-suite shower room; the second bedroom has a double bed and a single bed; and the third bedroom has a set of bunk beds and a single bed. On the lower floor there is a large open plan lounge, kitchen and dining area which includes a large flat screen television with UK Freeview TV. Les Roses also includes an outside dining table close to the swimming pool terrace. The gîte is ideal for a large family or a group of friends.
Activities at Les Patis include a large and heated communal swimming pool, ( heated 25th May - 14th Sept), with an outdoor hot tub for adults, a tennis court with a basketball ring, table-tennis and bicycles to explore the local area. Fishing on our own private lake will yield large and healthy carp, tench and roach; no license is required. Guests can also take a stroll within the grounds taking in the natural beauty or enjoy a leisurely picnic by the River Vie that borders Les Patis.
The pretty town of Vimoutiers is less than one mile away that has an array of shops and restaurants including a small supermarket. Twice a week the town holds a traditional market were you can sample the delicious local produce. The small village of Camembert, the birthplace of the famous Camembert cheese, is just two miles away and the Graindorge cheese dairy at Livarot is less than six miles. Vimoutiers also boasts to having one of the last remaining Tiger I tanks in France from WWII and the Mont-Ormel memorial, dedicated to the servicemen who gave their lives during the Battle of Falaise, is just a 10-minute drive. Only 30-minutes from Les Patis is the birthplace of William the Conqueror at the Chateau de Falaise and the French National Stud at Haras national du Pin.
Further a-field, the Normandy Beaches of the historical D-Day landings, including other WWII sites, are an easy drive from here. Bayeux with its magnificent hand worked tapestry, majestic Cathedral and many restaurants, is less than one hour away and the charming fishing port of Honfleur, surrounded by first class seafood restaurants, is also very close.
